A: gold with a slight haze, 1” foam cap, off white, lacy.
S: Some fruit and spice, melon, faint cake.
T: spicy, melon to cake. A dash of pepper and then a nice bitter citrus rind finish
M: Creamy, medium body and carbonation. Dries on the finish.
O: I like a little more cowbell in my winter ales but this is drinkable and pleasant.

Poured from a bottle to a pint glass with a unfiltered amber glow, fair 2 fingered head that stayed a bit, thin lace hung to the sides nicely. Smell held bread notes with spices such as clove, taste held clove as well with a slight bite and honey undertones. Mouthfeel was nice with a lot going on, wish I had several more to get them all. A nice Amber Ale made for Winter drinking and it fills the bill, it's local to me but I'm not biased, just happy to be able to grab a 6 pack for a Holiday party and support a home town brew.

Sampling right now on 12/24/13. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a pilsner glass.

Poured a slight hazy amber in color with a very small white head that left good lacing. The aroma is of sweet spices with the cloves standing out. You could taste the various spices including the cloves with a light hint of honey. Actually it is a very good brew and didn't have a harsh bitter aftertaste unlike some other 'winter beers'.

Enjoyed from the 12 oz bottle in snifter via a friend from work THANKS RANDY!
Pours a cloudy medium amber with a nice head of white dissipating foam that subsides to a thick rin, cloudy layer, and very nice lacing. Nose of citrus zest of oranges and lemons, subtle honey, and light caramel. Flavors follow the nose with sweet honey and lemon/orange zest with a strong astringency note to the lemon. Caramel and lemon fade to an interesting musk melon note on the back with a lightly bittering hop note mixed with lemon notes. Unique. let this warm and be rewarded. It is almost a hybrid between a saison and an amber. Interesting.

Cheers

Pours an apple cider vinegar color, 90% opaque. Head is 2 fingers, off-white, leaves tons of lacing behind.

Smells of honey, lemon, mango skins, black cherry, herbs, and roasted malt.

First sip gave me a chunk of something. A rind? A sliver? I dunno. Tastes of vinegar, honey, amber malts, ending on pine and grapefruit lozenge. Actually a lot like Carmex and lemon herbs.

Feel is creamy and medium bodied. Light carbonation, dry finish.

I don't like drinking liquified chapstick. I'll not be having this again.
