A deeply expensive store with marginally better selection than what you might find at a Kappy's.

Selection is typical for the area: lots of MA stuff, decent selection of German and Belgian and UK imports, many of the standby nationally distributed craft beers like Sierra Nevada and Lagunitas. All priced a good 2-3 dollars per unit above the already way too expensive prices you'll find at bigger stores in Massachusetts.

The vibe is that of a clean liquor store. No scratchoffs, no guys out front asking you for cigarettes. So that's good. But they have a sickly, tumor-ridden bulldog that meanders about, as if to serve as a sad reflection of your own rotten crapulence.

Overall... if you're nearby and don't feel like driving, you may as well stop in.

This is a great little store to pop into and always find a good selection. The store is setup for customers to be able to walk around the store constantly browsing instead of having beer sections split on different ends of the store. They get in special releases whenever they're released. The service is great and the staff know their stuff. They are very good to ask for recommendations or to just talk beer.

Then there is Bogie, the dog the store is named after. He's such a great dog. He tends to bark at cars who accidentally pull up to the curb as if he's the parking lot watchdog. He's great and totally friendly.

Bogie's is awesome. I was super excited to move back to MA and find this gem of a store that I never even knew existed. They hold beer tastings every Thursday with beers from quality breweries. The service has been nothing but excellent, and the guys behind the counter always have good suggestions. They do a great job of letting you know what's new for the week both online and in the store, which is great and has allowed me to try some beers I would have otherwise possibly missed. The owner really seems to put effort into bringing in relatively hard to find beers. The selection is better than anything I've seen around, especially for the size of the store. If you're lucky you'll get to hang out with Bogie, the badass bulldog that the store is named after.

Would recommend this place to anyone in the area without hesitation. Glad to have it so close to home.

I've been going to Bogies (Sign reads as Alexander's) almost weekly for two years now. A few friends and I started going by here because we had just started getting into craft beers. I've been hooked every since. The owner Dave is not just a seller, but a fan of good beer. He hosts a Thursday night beer tasting that's unlike any other beer tastings you can go to. He often pits brewery vs brewery, plus samples new arrivals to boot. If you manage to find yourself visiting on a Thursday night I do offer one bit of advice, buy something. It costs him quite a bit of money to share his craft beers at the tastings, so it's both respectful and proper etiquette to buy some beer at the end of the night. I've made quite a few beer friends just by attending the Thursday night tastings. It's a very friendly enviroment filled with fellow craft beer lovers.

The selection is the best on the North Shore. Huge selection of Belgian & foreign beers. Microbrews from all over the East & West Coast. Often gets hard to find beers from Ballast Point (Sculpin!), Founders, etc. The prices are also very solid and reasonable. He even has great glassware!

Also, say hi to Bogie the Bulldog.

Bogie's is a hidden gem in Beverly, so I try to spread the word as much as possible. As other reviewers have said, the signage is "Alexander' gifts" or some such thing, but this place belongs to Bogie, the offical bulldog of the store.

I pop in here once every week or two, and alway come away with a modest haul of beer I haven't tried. The owner updates Bogie's facebook friends of his weekly "hauls," which is an awesome way to be first in line for super-fresh offerings.

The selection is easily the best in Beverly, perhaps the best on the North Shore. There are other, bigger stores around that don't manage to get even close to the same selection.

Note- the sign says Alexander's, they are in the process of changing the name.

Re-reviewing Bogies after going a few times, the last mixed six I got there was definitely worth the 9.99. Stone IPA, Dogfish PaloSanto Marron were 2 that stood out.

Good bomber selection, has all the basics and then some. Very good Belgian/European section as well. Many cold six packs to choose from also.

Employees are friendly and knowledgeable for the most part, I think they could use more space, but it is still a good place.

They also have extensive beer tastings, known as Bogie's Best or something to that effect, Bogie is the dog, but they basically taste everything under the sun, and everyone grades them, and the best ones stay on, sort of like a tournament of beer.

I am so happy that I discovered Bogie's about a year and a half ago. It is my home away from home! It is my go to place as it has all the best craft brew selections that I crave. The staff is super friendly and offer their help in making decisions. This place gets beers that I can't get anywhere else in the area. If there is a new beer release, you can bet that Bogie's has it. They are willing to order certain beers of interest as well. For such a small place, they have a better selection than other bigger places in the area. I highly recommend that you make a trip to this place even if it is far from you. You won't be sorry!

Stopped in today for the first time and was extremely impressed. It's a small store in a strip mall with limited space but really an excellent selection of american craft beer. Diverse set of brewers (Founders, Moylans, Hoppin Frog, Weyerbacher, Rogue, Lost Abbey) and only top quality options. Found a few beers that I haven't seen anywhere else in the Boston area. Smaller selection of imports but some good Belgians, stuff from Germany and England, and a few Haandbryggeriets..
Staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

It's the best beer store in Beverly. It's located in a little strip mall but well worth the stop. Bogie's a kick butt dog who greets shoppers and is a ton of fun.

They have a great selection of the American craft/micro's - and they get new stuff every week.

They have great wine, great euro brews, etc.

I love Bogey's - its not the cheapest place to buy beer but the fact they stock rarities from Founders, Lagunitas, etc. is well worth the extra couple $$.

They do field trips, Thursday night tastings, etc.

Highly recommended if you looking for good beer in or near Beverly, MA.
