Served in a pint glass
An easy drinking porter. Great with the white (with spicy sausage added) pizza I had as well. Excellent representation of the style. – 4

S - Roasted malt - 3.5
T - Roasty, but not excessively bitter, malty and nutty. - 4.5
MF - Creamy, medium body, not thin like some porters can be - 4.25

This one appears as a porter should, dark, almost entirely black, brown head and some lacing.
Aroma and flavor are well roasty, toasty, just a smidge of burnt toast, some caramel, chocolate, coffee, and a balancing dab of crispy hops. While thte aroma is a bit on the subtle side, the flavor is just plain wow!
Body is pretty thick and chewy, certainly this one doesn't suffer from the flaw of a porter who's too thin. Bring a fork!
I like this beer. It's not over the top, but fits the bill of what a porter should taste like, and what one should aspire to when creating a tasty porter.

On tap at the brewpub.
The beer pours a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is full of roasted malt, cream and chocolate. The flavor is made up of light chocolate and roasted malt notes, as well some oats and cream. Medium, soft and silky mouthfeel, with medium carbonation.

This is cocoa cola colored with big, thick bubbles. It has a lightly rounded roasty aroma—roasty and sharp, with a definite roastiness that’s matched by an intense bittering. Has some pine and some chew to its finish with a real heft to its body. Tasty and sweet, this beer may be out of season but it definitely hit the spot.

A: Pours a dark brown color with some ruby red around the edges. A small bubbly beige head forms, and recedes in a second. Light watery lace is left.
S: Light roasted malt and chocolate. very acrid and astringent coffee in the nose.
T: Big roasted malt and chocolate. Mush less astringent than the nose. A toffee sweetness that makes this easier to bear than the nose. Light coffee.
M/D: A medium body and carbonation. A little thin though. Easy enough to drink, but there are other beers from the brewpub I will grab on a regular basis.
Not a bad porter, and worth a try. Though there are many other beers that are more interesting and better made at Freetail.
