On tap at the brewpub.

The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma is very malt with a lot of biscuit and toffee malt. The flavor is a little more complex. I get a lot of toffee malt, as well as some floral and perfume notes from the hops. There is also a little bit of orange citrus, as well as a low amount of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Why is this listed as an ESB and not an English IPA?

Tan to lightly copper colored, a little haze but mostly clear, rising bubbles, a decent head and lacing.

Aroma is hoppy with a notable malt character and that "classic" English IPA nose. Flavor is well hopped with a good yeast character and a well done malt background.

Body is medium and pretty well carbonated, with a lightly bitter finish.

Overall it's an excellent English IPA.

An interesting Brit IPA. It stays fairly true to the ones I've had across the pond, but seems more intense in hop bitterness. The hop flavors and aromas seem like UK varieties, which I appreciate. Traditional yeast characteristics are lacking or blown out by the hops. Still, an enjoyable beer.

Appearance: Pours a clear amber color with a very impressive head that leaves clumps of lace all around the pint glass

Smell: Biscuity malts and earthy, slightly lemony hops

Taste: Biscuity malt, up front, with a somewhat fruity character that develops by mid-palate; the hops arrive in the middle, as well, with an earthy/lemony flavor that lingers through the finish, though there is some residual sweetness that pops up in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A very nice IPA that tips its hat in an English direction

Thanks, jl28r1, for the opportunity
