I thought this was delicious.

I guess I don’t have much more to add to this review right now. This sure ain’t poetry.

Big thanks to hudsonphotog for sharing this growler. Always happy to try a new sour beer from Freetail.

The beer pours a dark brown color with a white head. The aroma is full of tart cherries with some oak notes mixed in. A very nice smelling beer. The flavor has a little bit of toffee and caramel in it, but what really stands out is the tart cherries. There is also a nice heavily oaked character to the flavor. The sour cherries are very well done. The beer's dryness make it very easy to drink. Thin to medium mouthfeel and low to medium carbonation. Not one of the best sours from Freetail, but a very good beer.

Poured into a sniffer. This was Freetail's Self eSteam that was aged in barrels.

Appearance: Light brown with slight yellow hues around the edges. A very thin off white lacing that fades into barely a ring around the side of the glass.

Aroma: Hints of vanilla, sour cherries, and caramel. Not as much depth as I was hoping for with a slight acidic aroma.

Taste: A hint of sour cherries with a caramel mouthfeel and a slight tartness. Not overwhelmingly sour or tart, but still prevalent.

Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation and a light to medium body with a dry tart finish.

Overall: Good, not as sour as I was hoping for, but I had it after Figgy Wood'n, which was definitely more sour. If I had had it on its own I probably would have been more satisfied with its sourness level. Still an enjoyable beer.
