Style: American Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.60%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
This beer was inspired by some past experiences at NOLA Brewing with a previous IIPA that ended up getting lawyers involved and names had to be changed. We're seeing more and more lawyers getting involved in the industry so we decided to create this beauty to acknowledge that we see these things going down and yes, we did copyright the name.

On-draught @ the brewery.

Floral, citrusy, classic. I'd bet on at least one C-hop. Two row pale malt counters hop bitterness.

Smooth, wet, light to medium-bodied, well-carbonated, somewhat refreshing.

Drinkable and enjoyable but not a standout in its (oversaturated) style.

Hazy, peachy colored body; nice head, thick and lasting. Respectable orange and grapefruit scented aroma. Excellent flavor; citrus qualities with a bread crust malt base. Medium-heavy body; crisp and acidic; warm.

A rock-solid India pale ale that doesn't bring anything new to the game yet satisfies overall. There is a fine balance between a toasted grain base with a crisp, nicely bittered hop presence. Very enjoyable.

Can from Tavour. Hazy, milky yellow, small skin of bubbles. Light tropical aroma, citrus peel. Taste amps up the bitterness, along with a nice citric sweetness and a faint juiciness. Slow start, solid finish.

Poured from tap into sniffer, small whitish cap of foam, little retention, soso lacing. Pale orange, looks like orange juice. Smells of orange and tropical fruit. Taste follows nose, slight sweetness on the front, good firm bitterness on the back. Good mouthfeel and good firm bitterness on the finish.

12oz can served in a tulip. "Enjoy By" 12/13/18 (I assume the 18, it's too squished to read).

Pours a hazy amber-yellow. Medium to high carbonation, medium head. Smell is very tropical, in a dark and overripe kind of way.

Taste is a tropical mask over heavy hops. Very thick bitterness, some fruity sweetness.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and moderately effervescent. Overall, it's a good beer.

A thanks to the founding father of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, malts, light mango. Taste is citrus, melons, moderate bitterness, a bit of malts. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a quality beer.

The CANQuest (tm) is rolling along in high gear as New Catch-Up Beer Sunday (Week 696) CANtinues in all of its unabated glory!

From the CAN: "A hazy, juicy, dry-hopped IIPA"; "'Laissez la bonne biere verser'" (Let the good beer pour)'; "A beer motivated by some past experiences at NOLA and throughout the industry"; "Store Cold. Drink Fresh."

I Crack!ed open the vent on the CAN & beCAN a slow, gentle Glug into the awaiting glass. This is supposed to be a NE-stylee DIPA, but I was unwilling to buy the idea that hazebros are now creeping into DIPAs, also. Color was a lightly-hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5), but I found it acceptable. Nose was pine & grapefruit, rounded off by a honeyew & guava sweetness with an earthy maltiness. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, but actually a little thin for this style. The taste was more towards a one mintiness, initially, but then the honeydew & guava sweetness became assertive, especially as the beer warmed. Finish was cool, dry & minty. It struck me as a good example of the blending of PNW & Southern Hemisphere hops, something that should occur more regularly, IMHO.

This beer is a bridge between hazy and west coast ipa. Slight haze appearance with a hoppy citrusy taste. Nola cranks out exceptional beer. Hoppyright can take you to hopitoulas which is a traditional ipa or to flippy floppy or spud which is hazy. Great beer
