Style: American Pale Wheat Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.50%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
“7th Street Wheat” started out as our Summer seasonal, but cue to its popularity has made its own place in our year round ales. Named in honor of the 7th Street wharf across the street from the brewery, this filtered wheat ale is light-bodied American style with pounds of fresh lemon-basil added after fermentation. The light citrus taste with a hint of spicy herb on the back goes well with almost any seafood dish, and from what we hear, is a favorite at bars as a stand alone refreshing beer.

-lager glass. Lemon basil added. Looks good til 04.19.18. Consumed 07.24.18. 40 days and the coal ran out.

A: Pale hazy orange coloring, with a light spacious rise of carbonation. The head quickly fell, the glass remained clean of its influence.

S: Sweet ginger ale like aroma, with wet basil. Sweetened grapefruit and wheat add support. Nice strength overall, spicy, sweet, like a lemon flavored ginger ale or shandy.

T: Sparkling ginger ale/grapefruit-lemon flavor. Strong support base of wheat gives this a dry base, along with some hefe like yeastiness. Sweet, spicy flavor, ginger/grapefruit with a basil twang upon the swallow.

M: Nice crispness, tingly, soda like, with a medium body.

O: Overall drinks a like a sweet grapefruit-ginger ale or shandy. Crisp wheat summer time drink. Refreshing, sparkling. More alcohol beverage like.

Poured from can into NB chalice, 2 finger soapy cream colored head recedes to a pool after a few minutes, ok lacing. Clear bright yellow in the glass, aggressive pour stirred up a small amount of sediment. Smells of cracker malt, slight lemon and some herbal/grassy notes. Not as strong on the nose as I thought it would be. Doughy grain on the front, not much sweetness, some slightly tart lemon, not too much and there is some herbal notes on the finish, slight grassiness, beer just seems to fade out. Not a bad drinker, wouldn't turn this down, but my 6 pack took awhile to get thru, just kept hoping my palate was jacked up. I really wanted to like this beer more than I did. I wanted more basil punch and a crisper finish.

Poured from tap at an establishment that serves everything in plastic cups. The beer still had a good head and lacing atop a slightly cloudy body. Pleasant lemon smell. The taste was grassy and citrusy with a bit of cinnamon. Overall, pretty good.

Clear light golden pour with a small white head that fades quickly. Funky aroma with a hint of lemon and grass. Taste follows the nose with lemon and grass flavors. Can also taste bit of spice and pepper.

Pours light hazy, pale gold. Short, foamyy, white, short-lived head.

Smells lemon, grassy, wheat, malty and herbal.

Taste lemony wheat. Light sweet and light grassy. Finish is semi-dry with a bready linger. Lighter body and medium carbonation.
