Notes:
This milk stout, also know as sweet or cream stout, is black in color and brewed with cara, chocolate and roasted barley. Presenting a dominate malt sweetness with notes of chocolate, caramel and a hint of roast in the aroma and on the palate. Lactose sugar deepens and rounds out the pleasing rich malt and medium body of this unforeseen galactic visitor!

Thick looking and a very dark colored brown that shows mahogany highlights through it when held to the light, pours with a finger and a half of brown colored, fine bubbled head that dissipates quickly and leaves no visible lacing.
Mild but with a noticeably sweet molasses and chocolate syrup aroma to it.
Sweet tasting and dark flavor forward with a whole lot of coffee and dark chocolate notes to it.
Smooth and lighter bodied then I expected with a slightly above average amount of carbonation to it, definitely on the sweeter side without becoming over sweet with a nice mocha body and light lactic notes on the back-end giving it a ghostly suggestion of dark berries to it.
No discernible hop flavor on finish but a faint note of anise and a lightly lingering dark chocolate bitterness along with a faintly tart lactic note that build up on the palate as I drank it.

Poured from a 650ml bottle. This is a Milk Stout. Hops: Columbus, Malts: Superior Pilsen, Cara 15, Pale Chocolate Malt, Caramel Munich 120, Roast Barley, Oat Malt.
Pours a very dark brown almost black with thin head. Toffee caramel nose.
Taste is somewhat thin for me,all in all a pretty good Stout.

650ml bottle - it always seems strange for a guy in Alberta to get to a Driftwood brew first, what with all the users on the Left Coast. Interesting name here, BTB.
This beer pours a clear, dark, amber-highlighted brown colour, with three fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and yet fizzy tan head, which leaves pretty much nothing in the way of lace anywhere near the glass as it quickly evaporates.
It smells of roasted, and sort of meaty caramel malt, bittersweet cocoa powder, cold cream, faint cafe-au-lait notes, and rather tame earthy, musty, and floral noble hops. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, some free-range ashiness, medium chocolate, day-old coffee grounds, almost tart lactose, and more understated earthy, herbal, and floral green hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly low-key in its innocuous frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and generally smooth, with just a touch of char getting all up in my palate. It finishes off-dry, but not by all that much - the roast and sneaky sour essences presiding.
Overall - I'm not really certain what this offering aspires to be. For a milk stout, it's not nearly sweet or creamy enough; and for a so-called sour stout, it lacks the acidic punch required to make one's tastebuds stand up and pay attention. As with a few other Driftwood brews, too many cooks spoil the broth, or something to that effect.
