Loving the beers I've tried on tap at the P.Nut.
This was fantastic, well crafted, exemplary take on the style. Nuanced grassy notes and a long longer finish combine to make this work so well.

Look: Almost clear, deep yellow with a nicely settling head that is already leaving solid lacing
Aroma: Floral hops, cut grass, pilsner malt, and a little lemongrass
Taste: Follows nose but the lemon note is especially more pronounced (as is everything). Super clean, crisp, and unbelievably refreshing
Mouthfeel: Great. Medium carbonation, full bodied but light and only lightly dry on the finish
Overall: Tasty stuff and glad I had the chance to try it. Hits all the right notes and a very authentic-tasting take on one of my favorite styles. Prost!

Pint on the patio of Westside Taphouse in Salem.
Lovely evening.
Pours the expected gold body..small white head.
Very nice traditional aromas..grassy floral hops and pale malts. Simple yet so hard to get right.
Taste is the same very traditional German pils.. excellent.
Great mouth feel..dry finish.
Excellent beer right up there with Heater Allen.

L: Completely filtered orange-gold hue like wearing orange tinted glasses. Rising streams of bubbles and a couple fingers of dense sudsy froth, settling down gradually and leaving spotty lace on the glass.

S: Grass is very prominent along with honey. Lemon and slight peppercorn.

T: Good balance between the malt (fantastic malt), floral qualities, and muted citrus.

F: Mosty crisp but smooth. Fine carbonation and good mouthfeel for the ABV.

O: This pils puts the brewer's talent on display. It has fantastic balance and presence and I would drink many more despite it not being my favorite style. Very well done.

Light golden yellow color with good white cap and lacing.

Aroma of fresh yeast rolls with floral, spicy hops.

Flavor starts with a firm hop presence that is reined back just short of bitterness. Very solid hop backbone fleshed out by bready malt that rounds things off nicely. The grain has depth and the hops have brightness. Simple flavors presented with complexity, balance and sophistication.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

If the Lager world is a base of gravel this is a gold nugget that shines out.

On tap at Taylor Shellfish Farms (Capital Hill), served in a shaker pint glass. Clear, pale gold with a modest head of white bubbles. Clean aroma a floral, spicy hops along with fresh bread. Flavor continues with light lemon, crackers, mineral earthiness and spicy hops. Closes crisp, bitter and clean. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. A solid, nicely balanced and flavorful Pilsener - perfect to wash down some HH oysters.

16.9 ounce bottle with no date seen but I assumed it is fresh by the generous BA who sent it. Poured into an English tulip glass. (I need to rectify having no Pilsner glass.)
Golden yellow, fluffy pillow of 2 fingers head. Slightly aggressive pour. The head condensed, flattened but lasted damn near the entire beer leaving laces all down (could be that I drank it that fast!)
Nose of lemon, hay, doughy malts. Plus it has that crisp, classic hop bitterness nose.
Taste starts out as malty sweet which opens up to crackers, lemon, earthy/spicy bitterness. Touch of honey at the finish.
Supremely drinkable with a light body and subtle finish.
This is a beer I could have year round whether sitting on the deck on a hot summer day or next to a fireplace at the cabin apres ski. Well done.

Growler from New Seasons.

A clear straw yellow with a dense white head with good retention and lacing this looks great. The nose is perfect. Crisp, snappy, lightly doughy with a firm hop bitterness and a lovely leafy note. Mild mineral character , mildly dusty, rounds out the nose. The palate opens bitter with earth, mineral, grass, mild lemon, all with remarkable depth. This is followed by a light but complex malt flavor, a blend of straw, light dough and a touch of honey. Bitter on the finish with a touch of hop oil resin and a little soap that's lightened by a touch of honey. Light in body and crisply carbonated, this beer is spectacular.

side by side, a Chuckanut Bohemian pils ( undated, butpurchased last week) ,a Heater Allen pils (canned 26 June) and a Moonlight Reality Czeck (canned 15 July)
Chuckanut is grassier with blend of lemon peel and lemon pith and with minimal sweetness. It also has the most straw of the bunch. The Heater Allen has a faint DMS note that pairs well with the sharper, more aggressive hops. The Moonlight manages to blend a soft, doughy honey note into into a firmly lemongrass like hope note. On the palate, it's close between the Chuckanut and Moonlight. The Heater Allen is just rougher, a little sweeter and less flavorful than the others. The Chuckanut and Moonlight are similar, clearly variations on a theme, with the Chuckanut being crisper while RC is a little oilier with its hops. Both have similar soft, doughy malt character, though the hop oils are a little better Integrated into the RC. The finish on the Cnut is a little thin, a little watery, while the RC is firm through and through. The HA, though, is brash, a little messy and with a slight vegetal note. Overall, the RC wins, with a soft, integrated beauty to it that's marvelous.

Chuckanut: 4.5/4.5/4.25
