On draught at the Collins Pub, Chuckanut Pils is clear pale gold with a white head leaving nice lace.

Smell is very muted, a light sweetness.

Taste is on the sweeter side grain wise, really nice presentation of the taste of the cereals. Nice floral note as well.

Mouthfeel is dry, crisp, light bodied.

Drinkability is good, this is a well made pils, flavorful without being overly so, and no off-flavors. Highly recommended and worth seeking out.

On tap into an American pint glass @ Ivar's Salmon House, Seattle. Pours a clear pale golden color w/ a minimal white head.

Aroma is delicate, floral, slightly grassy.

Taste is nicely grainy, floral, with a hint of white grapes. Clean, crisp, drinkable.

Mouthfeel is likewise crisp and light, refreshing.

Overall a really nice, restrained, balanced pilsner.

Poured a clear golden-yellow with a finger of bright white head. Mild aroma with grain, grass, and a hint of citrus.

Moderate carbonation and a light, smooth mouthfeel. Nice mix of malt up front mixed with grass, pepper, and lemon, and a long finish that starts quite grainy and becomes more smooth and biscuity as it lingers.

Nice full-flavored pilsner. Solid all-around.

From the 500 ml bottle purchased at the brewery restaurant in Bellingham. Clear pale golden in the Einbecker Pilsner glass with a plentiful foam and lots of spritz on the tongue.

Crisp and light, with a resiny tang. Moderately hoppy with a bitterness that gradually creeps up to the aftertaste. Some light and crackery malt, but a substantial mouthfeel. A pleasant tangy and brambly taste. The hops are fruity and a bit herbal tasting, with a piney note. Plenty of bitterness but no real bite.

Overall, a fine example of the Pilsner style and a great quaff.

on-tap, collins pub

appearance: shaker pint, bright and clear golden-copper body, active white foam with light retention

smell: grassy hops, lemon rind, pepper, grains, honey

taste: a solid pilsner that could be in strong rotation come summer time - grassy noble hops, lemon rind, honey, toasted grains, a little peppery bite. nice stuff

mouthfeel: relatively high carbonation, light bodied and easy drinking

overall: a well-done pilsner...somewhat of an anomaly in the region

On tap at Ivar's Salmon House. Poured into a shaker pint glass. Pours a light to medium, slightly hazy golden amber with a thin white head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of smooth grainy biscuit malt, light grassy hops; lightly spicy and aromatic, smells nice. Flavor is rich biscuit malt, lightly grassy and floral continental hops, hint of spiciness and lemon. Medium bodied with a light creaminess. I've been away from pilsners for a while, leaning towards the hops flavors in IPAs, but this pilsner, with pleasant spicy and floral hops and malt could win me back. I've not had a fresh German style pilsner in decades, but this was a lot more flavorful than continental bottles that travel slowly to market here. This seems a bit more malty than I'd expect, but that is exactly what I like in the style. The malt and hops were well integrated and flavorful, far richer than I'd expect from the ABV. Another fine brewery from this area that I'm long overdue to sample. Look forward to trying their other styles.

Enjoyed this at the brewery, but this review is from a 500 ml bottle purchased at the brewery into a pokal

a: clear (but not crystal clear) pale gold with a big 3 finger billowy head that subsides after a couple minutes
s: a little light sweet floral grassiness, some grainy sweetness as well...nice fairly delicate nose
t&m: here is where this shines. I kind of have to pay attention because it doesn't really demand my attention, but once you do...good stuff. Like their Helles, this is extremely clean and crisp. Starts off light floral and crackery, then by the middle it is a lot more substantial, with some grainy breadiness and some grassy hops and the beginning of a little twang. By the end, there is some nice gentle bitterness that creeps in and lingers a bit. Despite being very crisp with some good bitterness, there isn't any snap.
