First had: on tap at Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen

It was ok. Poured light, clear copper with a small, quickly receding head. Light, malty aroma that carried into the taste. Malts, light sugars. Light mouthfeel, and a bit thin. But somewhat drinkable to those who don't want to take any risks.

A: Small head that dissipated pretty quickly. Body is amber-colored and completely clear.

S: Light malt coming through, with some breadiness and caramel present.

T: Moderately sweet with caramel flavors, and a lightly bitter, dry finish. Goes down pretty smooth overall.

M: Medium-bodied with some slight creaminess, and average carbonation.

D: Nothing spectacular, but pretty decent. Goes down very easy. I'd definitely like to try some more Chuckanut beers after having this one.

On tap at the brewpub the other day. While not bad, this was probably my least favorite beer of the various offerings I sampled here.

The beer pours a tannish brown color with OK head retention and little lacing. I don't get a lot on the nose, just some light sweet rootbeer, cherry and sweet malt. Flavors replicate the nose pretty well, except this beer is very, very light, almost to the point of tasting a bit watery. Drinkability is pretty good, and at the end of the day, I'd still call this a light, easy to drink and enjoy lager.

Final of these fine lagers from Beertunes. Many thanks.
Classic color of darker amber, very clear and nice tannish thick and dense head.
Tight aroma with a lager yeast quality noted most. Some soft malt appears in time, but it is quite faint.
Great taste. Semi-rich toast with both a hint of sweetness but also soft drying which is the more prominent of the two. From the bottle description the hops seemed to have faded a bit but there is still a hint of grassiness towards the finish that blends into the soft bittering.
Nice fullness and soft full carbonation in the feel.
This place makes nice lagers.

Served On-Tap and from 32oz growler to go.

A — Pours a brilliant reddish tinged caramel color into the glass with a billowy and creamy light oak colored head on top of it. Lacing left behind is solid and mostly consistent.

S — Smell is nicely ready and malty with focused notes of caramel and lightly roasted grains and malts. Some balanced honey and caramel sweetness offset with a little hint of grassy noble hops.

T — Caramel and chewy malt focus with a big hint of house yeast and balancing green clean hop finish.

M — Crisp and clean with a bit of lingering residual sweetness.

O — One of the best from Chuckanut and one of the best in the style. Fantastic example.

Clear copper with thin white head with good retention and lacing. Tasted malt aroma. Balanced malt and hops with a toasted biscuit and perhaps barley undertone. There is a light mouthcoating that is fairly pleasant for this beer. Moderately high carbonation making it a bit light bodied.

A good clean beer with some nice flavors and certainly an easy drinking beer for anyone.

Lovely autumn gold colour with a malty nose backed with some noble hops. This is a very good beer to have with food as it bring a strong malt backbone to the lager profile. I found the beer to not be overly sweet and on the money as far as a finish goes. This would be my go to beer this fall if I lived in Bellingham.

16.9oz bottle that was part of a massive porchbombing carried out by that Bellingham Bomber, beertunes.

Poured into a Sierra Nevada shaker pint glass, this was a mostly clear, copper-amber color, with a good-sized off-white head that dropped after a few minutes down to a sudsy skiff, but was easily agitated back to life. “Beer neglige”- style lace.

Malty aroma to this, with a touch of nutty, toasted grain and backed up by some “Euro” hops. Some reviewers say they’re Noble. I don’t know enough about Noble hops to recognize them definitively, but it seems style-correct to me.

The start of the taste is malty and a little bit sweet, but then some herbal hop flavor kicks in just enough to provide balance and keep the sweetness from dominating the taste of the beer.

Medium bodied and clean finishing. Seems a tad too heavy for the style, but not to a deal breaking degree.

Nice to see a PNW brewer tackling this overlooked style. They nailed the flavor, and the only thing I can see that would keep me from sessioning the hell out of this is that I find the body a little too heavy to picture me having repeated bottles, but having this one is absolutely fine by me.

A: Poured a light copper color with good carbonation leaving a nice white cap

S: Bread, light caramel, grains and a grry hop note

T: What can I say? Delicous and damn flawless. You really have to have consumed a lot of other true, great lagers to appreciate its taste and craftsmanship. Floral, grassy hops are light, biscuity, a hint at grains and oh so tasty

M: Clean, crisp tasty and awesome. light body, near perfect

O: Best of the best

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a clear, clean coppery-gold color with an inch of just off-white head that quickly dissipated and left no lacing.

The basic grain aromas were accompanied by a slight hint of a roasted scent. The flavors were very similar, with slight sharpness on the finish.

Typical body for the style. Drinkability was very good, having several of these wouldn't be any trouble. A beer worth trying, and worth some effort to find.
