First had: on tap at Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen

Poured a golden yellow with a light, receding white head. Some light malts, but mostly hops in the nose. Light and grainy, mild hoppiness to the tongue. Fairly tame. Light mouthfeel and moderate drinkability.

Nice clear amber orange in colour with a froth cream head. Nothing to the nose and there is little aroma at all. The taste is malty and bitter up front with a sweet middle and then a dry semi bitter finish. Very British with lots of toffee and roasted malt. The mouthfeel is good and there is lots of thick lacing. There is a good balance between sweet malt and a non descript hop bitterness.
Too bitter up front and not enough hop flavour to keep me interested.

A: Poured a light amber color with good carbonation and a small white head.

S: Light malts, hops here, Uh oh

T: Seemed pretty mute even for a more balanced IPA in this style. Light hop bitterness, grains

M: Seemed a bit thin to me

D: About average for style.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a light amber color with a thick white head that quickly dissipated, leaving nice sheets of lacing.

A nicely balanced aroma that featured both malt and hop greets the nose. The flavors also show a deft hand at the brew kettle. The hopping is a pleasant change of pace from the usual NW hop bombs and the malt provides a solid foundation without being sweet or sticky.

The body is very nice and clean, although it finishes just a little sweet. Drinkabilty is very good, you could have several of these enjoyable brews very easily.

Overall, a good example of the style, worth seeking out.

On tap at jakes. Poured into a pint, bright golden body with light white head. Not much to the smell, a bit of hop spice, slight floral with barely a wiff of malt. Taste is spicy hop, light body with some copper flavors. Slight hop bitterness, not much really stands out about this beer. Not bad, but I wouldn't order a second pint.
