Notes: Hop Box is our tribute to hops! Bury your nose in a glass and inhale. Pungent aromas immediately enrich your senses. Hop Box has both pine and citrus notes that arise from the bucketfuls of hops we add to the kettle and again into the fermentation tanks. We attempt to pack as much hop flavor and aroma into your glass as possible. Drink in the rich resinous flavors that elevate the heady aromatics. The hop box sips crisp and finishes dry with a lingering bitterness that begs you to take another sip.

Poured this one into a 10oz beer stein, and the brew makes a durable two finger thick off white cranium presentation, and the body is cleanly filtered with a dark copper color.

The aroma is arid and quite hoppy. There is more of an orange appeal here, more so than a grape fruit characteristic. Slightly perfumy too.

The taste is overwelmingly in the malt's favor. Very syrupy, figgy, the hops are detectable by a slight lemon drop finish. This tastes like lemon tea on steroids times two!

Feels very thick, syrupy, oily, mildly carbonated, with warming with a dry finish.

This was poured into a tulip glass.
The appearance was a golden yellow color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated immediately leaving some light messy lacing sticking and then sliding down into the beer.
The smell had some light sweet to bitter citrus with a nice underscore of pine and balances into a light fruity spice.
The taste was sweet to bitter to spicy all blending the hops for a nice complexity.
The mouthfeel had a bittersweet citrus and piney hops pounding at my tongue nicely. It sat about a medium on the body.
Overall, this was a wonderful DIPA that I would have again.

A very pale yellow color, similar to a budlight. Extensitve carbonation and slightly cloudy beer. The head is egg color frothy and billow with good retetion.

A moderate hop aroma, citrus, floral, pine, oranges, perfume, and grassy. A sublte malty sweetness come in from the back ground.

A mild hop flavor with citrus, floral, pine, oranges and grass. The malt is lightly toasted and sweet.

The mouth feel is smooth with a general finish that does not last.

If this is a DIPA, it is a joke. this beer can barely be classified as APA. The hops flavor ( the lack thereof)is mild at best. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale has more hops than this. Seriously you need go back to the drawing board on this one. The color of the beer should be a few tints darker. This is Not a DIPA, no freaking way you had one Job Put hops in the beer, one major job.

look: 3.25 | smell: 3 | taste: 2.75 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3

Appearance: Opaque orange glow with a lofty three-finger off-white head.

Aroma: Floury malt and orange zest.

Taste: Orange and earth hop bomb. Hint of grapefruit in there as well but the earthy character oversteps its welcome a bit and/or doesn't mix well with the citrus flavors here. The malt balances well but doesn't provide any unique flavor, just lots of 2-row flavor. Least bitter during the finish, with lingering earthy bitterness in the aftertaste. Thick but not all that robust at 9.3% ABV.

Mouthfeel: Full in body and almost chewy. Good carbonation and decent drinkability.

Final Thoughts: Just what the craft scene needs, another earthy/orange mess of an imperial IPA. Possibly half-decent fresh but I wouldn't know since there is no date on the can anyway. The only thing that makes this beer imperial is the ABV because the bitterness is on par with only an average IPA. The only positive is that there is a slight juiciness to the flavor at times. Would I drink it again? Unlikely.

Appearance: Pours with a head of about two and a half fingers. Golden, glowing orange color. On the lower side of active carbonation. Sticky lacing left behind at each level.

Smell: Grainy caramel hits first. Straw with some heavier saturated citrus fruits shows up on the body. The back end sweetens up a bit with some spiciness.

Taste: Caramel malts greet the palate. Pine and heavy citrus hop profile jumps the drinker. Grainy finish with some lighter, spiced notes which are pretty interesting.

Mouthfeel: Carbonation is low. Dry finish with some malt sweetness.

Overall: A pretty middle of the road DIPA. Nothing really stands out, too malt forward. Just feels like they didn't take any risks making this beer.
