This is a Bull & Bones version of the classic California style pale ale. Beautiful amber in color with an abundance of premium Centennial hops that lend a distinctive spicy flavor and fragrant bouquet. Lunch Pail Defense and Bud Foster approved.

Tried this as part of the Bulls & Bones Beer sampler....
3 oz sample
A: Copper in color, very clear, nice head and nice lacing
S: Smells wonderful... Floral hops abound... Reminds me of Stone's IPA
T: Very hoppy, a little note of citrus, more hops and a light malt (I'm not a big fan of Hoppy beer, just don't care for the taste... but I love the way it smells)
M: Med bodied, a little bitter in the aftertaste
D: Not my style but it does remind me of Stone's IPA....

First had: on tap at the Blacksburg brewpub
Probably the most solid of the beers I sampled from B&B. Standard APA look, clear copper color with a small cap of foamy white head. Fresh hoppy aroma, citrusy, floral, biscuity malt base. This was reflected in the taste, citrus and floral hops, with a solid caramel malt bill present but never taking the edge over the hops. Light-medium body and easily drinkable. Decent.

A-Clear, copper with a thin off-white head that hung on strong and left decent lace.
S-Light floral notes from a rather obvious dry hop addition. Touch of supporting citrus in the background. Malt sweetness of any kind is completely absent.
T-Impressive initial sharp, floral hop pop with secondary spicy notes. Underlying sweet malt base is rather mild and subdued.
M-Medium-light bodied, quite sharp and crisp with good lingering bitterness.
D-I was quite suspect to the comparison on the board at the brewpub of this beer as a classic California style pale ale. Well, guess what--->it really is! Very Sierra Nevada Pale Ale like, and that surely is not a bad thing! Well done and easily enjoyable.
