its a grocery store, how much atmosphere can it have?

very tight quarters here, located next to the hot food bar and pre-packaged cold food. the smallest beer selection ive ever seen at a whole foods. all were kept cold.

service was spot on, i was asked several times if i needed help and got a in depth explanation as to why they cannot sell singles. cannot complain there!

decent selection for such a small area. picked up everything i could not find at Binny's. i am MORE than happy i went to whole foods! plus, they are all kept cold.

whole foods usually has a slightly higher mark up but nothing i would say was beyond reasonable.

While in the area, I decided to knock out a couple beerfly spots. This Whole Foods had a similar layout to the Gold Coast location, beer was sort of to the rear of the store, past all the checkouts. Didn't see the tap they supposedly have, but have seen it at other locations. There was a little coffee bar in the center of the store.

Selection here was high quality, with bombers of Daisy Cutter & Ginger Twin, Rochefort 10 & 8, also Founders and FFF. Noticed the new 2 Bros. J series sixers here too. There didn't seem to be as broad of a selection, or as much craft focus as other leading stores in the chain (Sauganash, Lincoln Park). But what was available was solid. Small but quality selection of imports like Weihenstephaner, Youngs Double Choc Stout, and Tripel Karmeleit. There was a small section of the cooler space devoted to 750s, bombers, and import singles. All beer was chilled. Didn't see any floor displays like at other WFMs. Service was limited to checkout, and a tiny clever placard in the cooler with an employee recommendation for Westmalle Dubbel.

Stop in if you're local, or going to a BYO restaurant nearby. Binnys Lakeview is the best shop in the immediate area, with WFM a distant second.
