After the recent remodel and new coolers, the store looks better and they carry a lot larger variety of local and non local beers. You can do special orders which is nice. Decent prices and a fairly knowledgeable staff. I have yet to come across expired or out dated IPA's which is nice.

Store is set pretty well, with a fairly knowledgeable staff, very good pricing, and a good selection. Almost always come out with a beer I couldn't find at my favorite store.

On my way home from work, and they've really expanded their selection to provide a wide variety of craft and local brews. Still a smallish, sort of run-down place, but quite a good selection currently.
EDIT 2022 - Change of ownership - gone are the cool, knowledgeable guys I enjoyed seeing after work. Selection is decent - more cans, fewer bombers.

It is easy to find on Rt. 3 in Tllton, N.H. not far from Lake WInnisquam. There is a bit of everything going on here. They boast having over 100 different beers and they do. They also have a room devoted to beer brewing supplies but I thought the selection was fair to midland. But I am not as avid a brewer as someone who might shop here. They also have a big tobacco supply. When I was there the individual was friendly enough but he didn't really look like he wanted to be there. Still picked up a Gritty McDuff's brew I hadn't seen anywhere else and that made it all worthwhile.

This is a decent little place that has a small selection of craft beers. They carry a lot of the local microbreweries (Smuttynose, Long Trail, Harpoon, Seadog, etc etc), Kona, Sierra Nevada, and so on. They carry a couple different offerings from Stone, Brewdog, Samuel Smith, Unibroue, Rouge, and White Birch. They allow you to break up packs which I thought was pretty nice out of a small store.
Overall it is a nice stop if you live near or are just passing through, but it isn't worthy of an out of the way trip. The best thing about the store has to be some of their prices. I often find their beers can be several dollars cheaper (for bombers) than the bigger NH stores like Bert's and Barbs.

As a local to the Lakes Region (having lived in nearby Sanbornton all my life), I hardly knew what what we had in beer stores until I turned 21 and returned for a summer from college. The Smoke N Barley surprised me. Its a long time rustic convenience store on Rt 3 on the way to Laconia which sees most of its business in the year during Motorcycle Week.
As minors we'd avoid this store, buying the occasional cigar, but later discovering their selection of beers were quite intriguing for such a dive of a store. Having thought this place only sold Bud and the like, I was surprised even to find the case of Harpoon which I purchased from them one day, and was in awe of the several big bottle and big name microbrews they kept in stock. They also have great prices on all of their selections, especially their New England brews.
It is a bit dirty and does not seem all that inviting to most guests I'm sure. I'm a local and I never was open to explore this store until recently. I did not check, but I would wonder the ages of their nicer, more expensive brews do to the underwhelming amount of customers. If you happen to be in the Lakes Region, traveling to Laconia from I-93 and you're craving a special brew, then stop on by.

Not being from the area I kind of tripped over this spot and was intrigued by the name. A sort of beer & cigar store/conveince store on the way to the lakes region.
The selection was quite good. The usual macro selection with Budweiser, Miller, and the import macros. The selection of craft brews were quite good. A few selections from Rouge, Stone brewery, Samuel Smith, and others.
The prices were good. With nothing to compare it in the area at the time it's the only place in New Hampshire that had good craft brew. Compared to places near home they were still a decent value.
