n tap at Yak and Yeti poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, vanilla, fruittiness and light coffee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a watery finish. Flavors of bakers cocoa, vanilla and light roastiness with a smooth lingering chocolate finish.

a simple but well made porter, on tap at the bike café. the pour is a nice deep chocolaty brown color with maybe just an inch of off white suds that fade fast. the nose is medium roast malt and a touch of coffee, nothing too intense or unique, just all the delicious smells that should come from a fresh porter. the flavor is similarly true to style, this is a good example of how a porter should be, but kind of surprising for yak and yeti, who always seems to make such interesting brews. nice bitter burnt finish, yum. the body is light, surprisingly light, which lends to great drinkability on this one. carbonation is relaxed but adequate, and there a nice yeasty sort of mild chalky feel to it, which in this scenario is a good thing. overall a quality glass of brew, but maybe try something else from yak and yeti if you are looking for an adventure.
