Very Good
Addie's RevengeAddie's Revenge
Notes: Revenge is the sweetest thing, especially when Addie gets to it. She represents our Outlawed Release IPA. An Abundance of citrusy hops make up the nose and flavor of this gold-colored ale, rounded out perfectly with pale vienna and crystal malts.

A thanks to the founding father of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a dark golden/orange color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of malts, light citrus. Taste is herbal, some citrus, malts are present, balanced. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

As I get more into IPAs this beer was found at the Beer Den in Leland, NC.
L: Pours an opaque golden straw color. Not much of a head in the pint glass with spotty lacing.
S: Aroma and taste feature citrus hops and since this IPA is not a hop bomb ( the main reason why I was reluctant to get into IPAs ) the balance helps to appreciate the taste.
T: The citrus notes come out the most. The malt elements were hard to detect.
F: Medium body and medium carbonation.
O: A good representation of the style.

Good IPA. Pours a clear bright gold color from a 12 oz can into a pint glass. Medium sized foamy white head and several wide bands of lacing on the glass. Head retention is about average. Aroma and taste feature citrus hops ( mostly orange and pineapple). Can't detect any malt characteristics (bready, biscuity or sweet), but this is not a hop bomb so there is some malt balance here. Mouthfeel is light, crisp and somewhat bitter, At over 6% abv, this is not a session beer, but it does go down easy!! Very enjoyable, well worth a try!!!

Color is a cloudy orange, aroma is faint orange, grapefruit, taste is a slightly citrus, slightly bitter hoppy, yet get some honey notes as well. I really like this beer, a drinkable IPA.

A: Pale yellow orange amber, cloudy with a white head full of frog eyes.

S: Floral hops with sweet orange, and a touch of honey. A touch of grapefruit as well as a touch of tropical aroma.

T: Big hop flavor, tropical fruit, orange peel, and grapefruit. Bitterness is assertive, but there is still a touch of honey and bread.

M: Medium in body, with assertive carbonation, and a good bitter cling in the finish.

O: Overall a decent beer with good flavor. The bitterness is a little aggressive as far as the balance is concerned, but it is an IPA.. so that's probably allowable.

L: Pours gold with a light haze under a sticky 3” cream colored foam cap that is moderately persistent.

S: Has a mild aroma of spicy hops, melon, citrus with some grassy notes and light malts that suggest graham cracker.

T: the palate follows the nose but the slightly sweet fruit flavors of citrus and melon are more pronounced. They are backed by white bread to bread crust, hint of caramel, drying slightly on the finish with a lingering bitter accent. The hop flavors are medium high, the hop bitterness is medium to medium high and the malt flavor is medium to medium low.

F: Very creamy with a medium body and carbonation.

O: A good drinkable American IPA.

A: Poured a mostly clear (just a hint of haziness) golden honey in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation and some faint golden yellow + amber highlights. The beer has a two finger tall foamy beige head that reduces to a couple of small patches of medium thick film (comprised of larger bubbles) surrounded by a thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to heavy amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of sweet caramel + grainy malts with a slightly stronger than moderate aroma of citrus/grapefruit zest and pine hops.

T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of caramel and grainy malts with a light to moderate amount of sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of pine and citrus/grapefruit zest hops which imparts a light to moderate amount of lingering bitterness.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly heavier than light amounts of dryness in the finish.

O: Pretty easy to drink with well hidden alcohol - fairly well balanced between malty sweetness and hop bitterness. Enjoyable.

Pours clear with a darker shade of gold in the body. Forms a nice fluffy white head with good retention and lacing that follows down the glass.

The sweet crystal malts give doughy tinge to all the tangerine and earthy hop aromas coming of this one. Slight whiff of alcohol, hoping this isn't too sweet.

The taste is fortunately much less sweet than the nose indicates but still has a sweet bread dough flavor thoughout. Hops are citrus forward but more navel orange than bright lemon or grapefruit. Tea, pine and a lifting bitterness. Alcohol is lingering.

Medium bodied, quite drinkable though the alcohol that plays its weight and the slightly muted carbonation.

It's hard to be an IPA nowdays, this one is nicely balanced 40:60 towards the malt and the citrus and black tea flavors were very clean though it falls in line as merely good but not memorable.

Clear orange-amber capped with a low, but thick, lumpy white head. Mild fruity hop aromas over a good pale doughy malt base, orange, and tea. Floral hop flavor upfront, candied citrus, slight earthy pine, and tea. A little too much sweetness for me which takes the focus away from the hops. Medium bodied with a controlled bitterness, finishing fairly dry and crisp. Things seem to fluff up a bit with a swish. Not bad.

12 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a tulip glass

A - This beer is a golden color with a couple inches of eggshell head. The foam clings to the sides as it subsides.

S - I get some citrus right away. I pick up more of the malt as it warms. It has a fairly clean finish.

T - The taste has some mild citrus. There is a pine finish that grows with each drink.

M - Medium

O - It is a balanced IPA. It is good, but with so many options, it is not a standout. It is worth a try though.

Came to the table in a standard pint a slight chill hazed apricot color with a thinner soapy-like head atop.Fruity hops in the nose with some biscuit malts lending some sweetness, not in your face but decent aromas.Citrus on the palate along with light pine resin with mores mildly sweet English malt notes underneath, the hops don't jump out at ya but make for a pleasant drinking IPA.
