Notes: Shotgun Betty is a sexy, tough cowgirl who is always armed and dangerous. Don’t be fooled by her good looks, she will have you for an appetizer! That’s why we picked her to represent our Hefeweizen. Shotgun Betty is a wheat beer with rich, banana-clove nose and refreshing dry finish. Sound good? Try one. But beware, once Betty gets a hold of you there is no escape.

It was fair. Not a lot of the traditional Hefe flavors

Look: It pours yellow and clear with a white head. Head retention is good.

Smell: There are some doughy aromas with some clove and very low banana.

Taste: The flavors are of doughy wheat with medium clove. There is very low banana. There is a bit of spice as well.

Feel: It has a medium light body with a clove and spice after taste.

Overall, a refreshing beer.

Poured from a can into a clear beer mug.
Looks hazy orange yellow, White head that dropped quickly.
Smells slightly malty and fruity.
Tastes bready, sweet, banana.
Mouth feel, creamy, dry finish.
Overall, good example of a Hefe, but, wheat isn't one of my favorites, so no, I probably wouldn't order again.

On draft at Bar Louis in Raleigh.

Nice hazey looking Hefe with one finger foam and a quickly dispensing head with semi-OK fingers.

It doesn’t have a light wheaty mouth feel BUT a good Fall-Time-ish full mouth feel....if that makes sense.

Faint clove smell.

All in all: great tasting locally made American Hefe!

Had this beer while working in downtown Charleston SC. Very good American hefe. Banana and clove are present on the nose and taste. Nice tick foamy tan head. Mouthfeel is medium with a dry finish that leaves you wanting more. Very pleased with this 2/$3 16oz.

Poured into a hand washed weizen glass. Poured an orangy-brown color with a quickly disappearing head. A light dry taste that follows through to the aftertaste. Mouth feel is ok, just nothing special. Would rate a most likely no on the Would I Like to Sit Down with a 12 Pack of this beer scale

My favorite American hefeweizen. Tastes the most like the German ones of any American hefe I've had. Maybe this style is just harder to do? This one is excellent though. Not too light, not like one of the banana tastings wheats.

Hazy orange-brown body, not much head
Bright and yeasty, tangy, banana, wheat, ester
Ester, banana, orange peel, alcohol
Dry and tingly feel
It's okay. It isn't very flavorful

Had a can at the Tale of the Whale Restaurant on the causeway between Nags Head and Manteo NC. Captured the style well: Nice size white head, better than average retention and some lacing, straw yellow color. Bananas/bubblegum, yeast and lemon and cloves in the aroma and flavor. Mouthfeel is light, a little astringent with the yeast and spicing playing out nicely on the tongue. This isn't Paulaner's, but it is still pretty good!!!

A real nice rendition of a genuine German Hefeweizen. I spent 30 months in Giessen Germany and the White biers were always my favorite. Shotgun Betty would not seem out of place on tap in Giessen. Almost want to float a slice of lemon on top. It's that authentic.

DATE: JULY 24, 2018... OCCASION: enjoying Shark Week's 30th anniversary with the fam... GLASSWARE: Erdinger weisBier weIsengard glass... pours a clear, golden body with crisp effervescence... its head fills the bulb of the glass, a three-fingered, thick, clumpy and resolute snow white froth that forms windows as lacing... rIch banana, bright bubblegum, a pinch of clove, some light fruit--apple, peach?--and tea leaves suggest a rich, full hefe... creamy and mellow, with a smoothness that paces each sip well into the throat.... no cloying here... not much in the aftertaste, but not necessarily a detriment... clean and refreshing, as advertised... banana and clove, light biscuit, and a late pass of peach, pomegranate, or mango, which makes for an even brighter profile than the average hefe.... this is clean, clear and effective--a nice summer refresher, with a swag can to boot... my first Lonerider is a solid one...

From a can, pours as a beautiful gold with a three finger white head that rapidly disbursed. Aroma of spicy banana-bread. Lots of flavors of banana, cloves, yeasty bread, sweet malt and some little bitter hops in the background. Overall, really drinkable.
