Chocolate notes. Light mouthfeel. Semi-dry. Nothing to write home about.

A thanks to the commander of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a black color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, chocolate, some notes of coffee. Taste is roasted malts, smoke, light coffee, not getting much of the chocolate apparent in the aroma. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

12 oz bottle, no date.

Pours a dark brown with mild reddish tints with a quickly fading mocha colored head. Aroma is smoky and roasted, very little character or depth. Body is medium thick, soft and fluffy with moderate carbonation. Flavor is very smooth, milk chocolate malt and slightly bittersweet and hoppy. An unremarkable, drinkable porter, but a little too bittersweet as that dominates the other flavors.

A: Dark black with brown peeking through when held to the light. A creamy dark tan head on top.

S: Roasted malt, dark chocolate, molasses, and a hint of chocolate.

T: Roasted malt, caramel, and perhaps a hint of smoke in the finish. Somewhat lighter in flavor than the smell would have lead me to believe.

M: Medium to medium light, moderate fine carbonation, and a touch of a tannic linger. The mouthfeel is a touch on the watery side for me.

O: Overall not bad, but I was expecting a bit more from this brewery. It's good, but it's not excellent.

Dead Eye Jack is an opaque black body with a decent tan head that sticks a good bit. The body is right on for a porter. Right in between medium to a full mouthfeel. The flavors are dominated by charred roastiness but not overdone. I'm not picking up much hop presence in this beer either, which can be good or bad depending on your likes. Overall, a straight up decent porter.

Growler from the brewery. Supposed to be a seasonal but it seems they have plenty flowing. Dark pour with a fluffy beige head and spotty lace. Aroma is malt driven with a notable hop presence. Flavor is complex with hints of chocolate, molasses, butterscotch, and roast. Dry chalky finish
