Notes / Commercial Description:
Red Spur is the girl you take home to your parents. Pouring a beautiful ruby hue, this full bodied ale strikes a balance between lots of hop and caramel malt flavor. Hopped with Centennial and Columbus, this ale is full of flavor and complexity.

Pours amber is color with an half inch head with a nice lacing. The smell is malty sweet. The tongue begins malty and immediately taste the hops. Actually reminds me of a nice rye beer but there's not rye just nice hops. The mouthfeel is moderate and overall really enjoy this beer and will pick up again.

Had on tap at Sticks and Stones today here in G-boro.Poured a deep ruby color with a one finger off white head that lasted pretty well, real deep color to tis beer.Aromas of leafy and somewhat earthy hops over top of brown sugar and kilned lightly roasted malt.Good balance on the palate with a shot of leafy and sharp earthy hops intertwined with caramel and brown sugar-like sweetness,a fair amount of roast as well.A nicely made hoppy amber, not a citric or resiny hop bomb but nice flavors and nice looks.

Pours a deep red with a thick head that hangs around for a long time. Nose is pine, grass with some floral notes. Taste is malt forward with some pine. Mouthfeel is medium. A well done red.

Appearance: Deep ruby, creamy light tan head, excellent lacing.

Aroma: Medium sweet citrusy hop aroma over a slightly nutty malt character.

Flavor: More nutty bordering on roasty malt character comes out. Hop intensity/flavor is medium/pine with medium+ astringency.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied

Draft @ beer study in chapel hill. Into a FW tulip

Pours a dark red color with a nice head. the smell is huge on hops and just..goodness. Really impressed by the aroma. Taste is quite solid - lots of hops but not so overpowering, malts are there as well and it finishes with a good bitterness. i really enjoyed it. medium bodied, medium carbonation.

Overall one of the better hoppy reds out there and one of loneriders better beers!

My favorite beer from Lonerider. The perfect balance of hops and malt, with a deep ruby pour.

Pours reddish brown with a large fluffy head that leaves lacing. Nose is herbal and pine with some citrus. Flavor is bitter up front, with some raw hop flavors that are more astringent than tasty. Overall, it isn't a bad beer, but the harshness on the palate makes it one I wouldn't try again.
