Gorgeous clear copper body with a thin light tan head that fades to a ring and leaves wisps of lace around the glass, carbonation rises lazily from different source points. The nose offers hearty, sweet, caramel and toasted malts and nothing more. The flavor is like a biscuit, with those toasty sweet malts leading the charge and a little hop bitterness, like tea, coming in on the finish. The body is supremely light and drinkable, but the bready flavor makes it seem a smooge heavier than it is.
As far as straightforward German-style beers go, this was good. Oktoberfest styles have never been a favorite of mine, but this made nearly pure malt flavor as good as it can be. Powerful but light, simple but balanced, and very easily put down the hatch, I could spend a whole fest with this guy alone.

Unknown vintage; drank 11/23/15 @ the Yarchives.

Poured from the bottle into a glass.

Semi-opaque orange/brown appearance.

A rough pour yielded a nice eggshell head; nice lace.

Sweet corn, malt vinegar & cream soda notes in the nose.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Malt vinegar, cream soda & sweet corn flavors; bold but cloying. Not great.

12oz bottle, served in a snifter glass. Pours a medium orange-brown body, one finger white head, lots of lacing, decent retention. Smells of rich biscuit, bread, light zestiness, caramel and noble hops. Smells great. Flavour is hefty on the malt, good caramel sweetness, biscuit, but there is a fair bit of astringency on the finish that bothers me a fair bit. Noble hops on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, good carbonation, astringent caramel nuttiness on the finish which doesn't seem to work here for me.

Another nice traditional oktoberfest from a brewery that has a focus on lagers.
The appearance is a nice amber color with a bit of haze to it.
The aroma is sweet toasted malt, caramel malt, earthy and spicy hop notes.
The tastes are sweet toasted maltiness, caramel malt, earthiness and some spiciness as well. The tastes meld nice and smooth.
The palate is medium-light with a nice mix of malty sweetness and earthy hops lingering pleasantly.
Overall this is a nice drinkable oktoberfest that is smooth and still has pretty big flavor.

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/3 inch head of an off-white color. Good retention and great lacing. Smells of pale malt, slight sweet malt, yeast, hint of earthy malt, slight hops, and a hint of caramel malt. Fits the style of a Marzen / Oktoberfest. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of pale malt, slight sweet malt, hint of hops, slight caramel malt, and a hint of yeast. Overall, good appearance and feel with a decent aroma and body.
