Found this place next to the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel that we were staying at. We were in there early, around 5 pm. We were seated immediately, service was excellent. The Terminal brewed selection was limited - 4 beers on tap year round, along with one rotating and one seasonal; so 6 choices. I went with the Dead Sexy Scottish Ale. I liked the fact that all the brewing information is listed, including Original Gravity and all the ingredients used in the beer. I thought the Scottish Ale was a good representation of the style. The food was tasty pub food reasonably priced for good portions. By the time we left the place was packed, with a line, so it is obviously a popular Southside brewpub! I would definitely return.

Ratings so far are criminally low. Good beer, good food, incredibly unique ambiance and crazy friendly service.

While at Chattanooga Brewing (another awesome place), I asked for a certain stout I had seen at our hotel, and one of the friendly local regulars (yo Greg!) told me where to go, and it wasn't hell this time.
A side note - (Our hotel bar had a colorful Southsidenstein Stout tap handle on it, with a funny cool monster cartoon logo, so I had to find it. In town to see Here Come The Mummies/Flaming Lips, so a monster brew was very appropriate.)
Fire Bad - Beer Good!
Immediately I could tell this place was gonna be great. It was Saturday afternoon/Riverbend fest's final day, and Terminal was jumpin and vibrant. Friendly fun atmosphere for all.
They have some great, talented tappers (BIG shout out to Jeremy and Mariah) and servers, with many excellent choices of their quality brews and some fine looking pub fare in a hip yet traditional layout. Great location in the midst of a bustling area by the Choo Choo, makes for a fun environment.
First up - the Southsidenstein Stout: an absolutely perfectly tapped pint, top quality fresh, aromatic oatmeal stout with classic dark roast malt, and the black coffee and cocoa undertones. An all around great classic style session-able stout at 5.7%abv.
We could see down into the brewing area from the bar. Nice, spacious but cozy feel to it. This place was rockin' busy and running smooth like a track.
Next, we got their "Rock Out With Your Bock Out"- a Maibock Amber and their Malachi Irish Red. Both are beautifully done. And again, these tappers were so smooth and fast, constantly filling flights and pints perfectly.
The Amber had a nice tart bite to balance its malty richness. Killer good. At 5.8% abv, it's punched up a bit. Aye.
Malachi Irish Red may have stolen the show. At 6.3% abv, it's punched up a bit, and just gorgeous in the pint, with that red fiery orange color, and a clarity that I love. Bright, juicy -but not too fruity, crisp, balanced clean and kicking finish. Superb for a hot summer day, or whenever...Top hats tipped, friends.
I will happily drive the three hours through the whitewater region of southern mountains(Ocoee/Nantahala/Cherokee) to reurn to Chattanooga and the emerging brew scene, with it's really hospitable vibe. Just go.

Visited in March 2017. Nice atmosphere with a décor heavy on wood and brass in a cool, historic building in downtown Chattanooga, a block from the Chattanooga Choo Choo. Service was friendly and pretty efficient, considering the large size of my group (7). Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Beers I had were all competent, if not overly inspiring. The house tap list had a decent variety, along with a few guest taps. The beer sampler was a good deal and had generous tasting sizes. For me the highlight was Southsidenstein Stout. This taproom is worth a stop when you are in Chattanooga.

I liked the vibe of the place, it's kind of old fashion looking, The tables seemed a little tight but we sat at the bar and everything was fine. The service was great. The selection wasn't too bad either. No time for food the night I stopped but it was a nice spot.

Based largely on a June 2015 visit, I have been here a couple of times before.
A 2-story renovated bldg. adds to the nice brewpub atmosphere. Their beer list is restricted to 6 house beers and, being in TN, these are all restricted to 6.% ABV or less. Terminal manages to produce some fine beers (an no losers in my experience) and good variety within these constraints. Flights of all house beers are available, as are pints, half=pints and growler fills (to go).
Very good to excellent food, including the salmon sandwich and the lamb burger.

Good location, but hard to park. Place is very cool and has several floors. Service was awesome and the food was top notch. They have about 6 beer choices, several of which were solid 4 out of 5. The IPA is very good as is the Stout. I would recommend this place when in Chattanooga

Just happened upon this place while passing through and getting a room at the Choo-Choo hotel a block away. The service was excellent and the beers good as well. Nice vegetarian options on the menu which was a nice surprise. Would definitely go back here if ever in the area again.
