12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 6/18/2015. Pours slightly hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of lemon, pear, honey, cracker, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bready malt, earthy hops, and light fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, honey, cracker, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of honey, cracker, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt, earthy hops, and light fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness/carbonation as well. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and creamy/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.6%. Overall this is a nice California common style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt, earthy hops, and light fruity yeast flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

L: Pale yellow color, slightly clouded. Mild head which didn't last very long.
S: Light grass/floral notes, with definitive grainy malt smell.
T: Initially quite sweet, though not overpowering. A quick transition to a slightly bitter finish leaves a nice, crisp feeling with a possible lemon/citrus taste.
F: Medium-light body, but the carbonation was quite soft.
O: A crisp, refreshing drink. The name is also a clever nod back at it's origins.

12 Fl. Oz. bottle
Served in a pilsner glass
L - It is golden in color and slightly hazy. It is topped with several inches of thick, creamy, off-white head.
S - The smell is not strong. I get some floral and grain notes.
T - It starts out sweet. Then some grain and malt come through. It finishes mildly bitter.
F - It is pretty thin.
O - I not not have much experience with this style. I think Anchor is the only other that I have tried. After reading the description it seems to follow the guidelines. It just seems like a boring style to me. It is easy drinking. It kind of reminds me of a Euro lager.

The Steamy Windows is decent not spectacular. The beer I had was overprimed which I'm sure affected the taste and scent. The beer poured a golden color with huge white fizzy head that left some lacing. The scent was grassy like. The taste was crisp and clean. Overall it was ok,

12oz into a pint glass.
A: Golden amber body, slightly hazy. Some visible carbonation. HUGE, billowy head, decent retention, recedes to a layer of froth on the surface that has shape and size!
S: Light malts dominate; hints of spices and fruit.
T: Sweet malts, but not too sweet, NOT cloying at all. Spice and fruit, maybe banana, come through ever so slightly. No happiness, but slightly bitter at the end to cut off the sweetness for a crisp finish.
M: Light to medium body, nicely carbonated, not sharp, prickly or overwhelming. Nearly perfect. Slight astringency on the palate, slight.
O: Holy Shit, Batman! This is amazing beer. It is definitely California Common, aka 'Steam Beer.' But the added bonus of the light spicing and fruit esters make this really refreshing. The sweet to bitter balance could not be more perfect. I will go back to this again and again....when I am in Michigan. #pureMichigan
