There he stands... majestic, firm, watchful and prudent. Żubr, the guardian of the wilderness, standing sentinel in the primeval forest where nature invariably takes its course. If need be, the Żubr leads the herd and protects it from danger, or takes shelter in the shade and lets things lie - especially when he feels he deserves some rest after a hard day’s work.
The Żubr will not cut corners when important matters are at stake. Aware of its pedigree, Żubr is brewed in accordance with the traditions of the Dojlidy Brewery. Once the full-flavoured beer has been brewed, the Żubr gazes calmly at the sky, and waits for it to be poured.

I didn't think this would be too great, and it isn't, but I had to buy it for the Bison on the label. It is perfumy and sweet, a little thin, kind of all over the place with not any exactly terrible flavors but no exactly great ones either. In the middle of a swig it is best, but there is a watery strange Metallic Prune aftertaste. Or a soapy flavor maybe? Hard to pin down, but not a very welcome flavor. Forward malt flavor for a lager, lacking the crispness of tasty hops, rather bitter. One to try to say you tried it, but not one to reach for more than once, in my humble opinion. It is said to be the second most popular beer in Poland. (?) Zwyiec is much better, and Perla, and Lech, and a couple other Polish beers I've had. Go figure. Malty bitter 6% lager must be in high demand in Poland.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 500mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. My first beer from the Warsaw, Poland brewery...

It's clear why this is the most popular beer in Poland as it is fairly strong but tastes very clean and drinkable for 6% abv. Nothing special but perfectly decent standard European pale lager. bought as a 500ml can in a Polish supermarket for £1.69, imported.

One of the most commonly found Polish lagers with angry looking bison on the label.
Glucose syrup on the label isn't a good sign and makes me thing it will have a bit of a mocne flavour. Mega thin wattery appearance with rather large bubbles. Needs to be poured from the height of a metre for any kind of head. Sweet aroma with some honey and light hops.
Really thin mouth feel, very similar to water.Though at least some hops come through in the aftertaste. Very easy to drink fast. The taste however is a big improvement on the feel and appearance. Honey is prominent, plus there is quite a strong date, prune and olive taste coming through. Zubr is also quite unique in its yeastiness...it reminds me of an unpasteurized, unfiltered beer and the yeastiness reminds me of when I have tried making homemade cider and wine. This adds a kind of sourness and makes it less smooth. But the taste is also kind of interesting and it's not overtly sweet, despite the added glucose syrup.
Totally ok, great value beer...just lacking big time in mouth feel, creaminess and effervescence. At 6% it's only a little less strong than a mocne, yet it tastes much much better.

This is a pretty plain classic euro gold lager.
Made in Poland but reminds me of a Munich Gold Lager.

Sweet and mildly bitter; more full-bodied than most of the Polish beers I’ve had on this trip, but the more potent malt bill was a nice change of pace. All that said, it definitely gives me macro vibes.

L: honey gold with large white head
S: banana, cream, raw grains, and malt vinegar
T: cream, molasses, and slightly tangy
F: bit cloying
Very nice lager with cream and wheat notes. Easy drinking. Would go well with sausage and pickles. Probably the best Polish beer that I've had and doesn't have a mineral-funk like other Polish beers.

So this beer, I bought it because its the first time I've seen it lol. My first review so "beer" with me, if you ever read my reviews know I've had 2 of that beer before I write my review, so it's not just first impressions and more of a solid opinion.
The look: poured from a 500ml can, the green can caught my eye, the 6% was a pleasant surprise quite well hidden, I only knew it had strength before purchasing because I saw it was 3 uk units per can, couldn't find the % until I got home. Looks a amber type of colour, almost like irn bru with a head that was around 2 fingers high that retained in the top of the glass until my first gulp. Very thin traces of head sitting on the top of the last of the drink as I look now at the final gulp left in the glass. Very minute lacing on side of the glass left, overall looks how it sounds, not disappointing but like a decent mass produced beer.
The taste and mouth feel: feels as thin as it looks with medium bubbles on the tongue and throat. Quite downable, not to gassy, not to flat.
As for taste, it's slightly grassy with some bitterness to, which is quite pleasant, unfortunately there's a overly sweet aftertaste that comes straight afterwards, not unpleasant but makes it taste cheap, I was surprised how good it was to drink compared to the look and smell, it smells alcoholly but masks that in the taste, overall nice, but overly sweet and slightly cheap tasting.
Overall: I actually quite like this, still taste like cheap syrupy mass produced lager, but a better one, better than tyksie in my opinion. Very plain in most departments, excells expectations in taste but nothing mind blowing and only because I expected it to be worse going off the look and smell of it. The high % is masked nicely in the taste but not the smell, and makes the drink much more better hence the above average score. I like this beer and due to the fact its so easy to drink whilst being so strong, it's a shame it's not going to be a go to regular beer for me. I love it but the sweetness makes it taste to cheap for my tastes. Think a better version of tyskie or holsten pills, definitely buy again, but not all the time, far to sweet.

It is almost a straight number 4 for me. The old bison - although my can having an owl on it this time was sort of a letdown… not the beer though, it was a decent, flavorful lager somewhat on the heavier side, not just because of the 6% ABV but also because of the malt heaviness. Had a bit of a metallic or filmy aftertaste, otherwise it would have been a straight up “good.” Was good even still, maybe even the best Polish beer I had so far.

Zubr has a thick, crackling, off-white head, a bubbly, deep gold appearance, and some lacing. The aroma is of herbal white bread crust. The flavor has an even more noticeable herbal quality, with bread crust and low bitterness. Zubr has a medium body, and a crisp finish.

Bottle picked up at an off-license in Hounslow. Crisp, vibrant golden body with abundant airy head, which fades pretty quickly. Sweet cereal grain aroma carries through to taste, but actually has nice flavor, hops also have a nice tingly presence at the finish. More pils than lager.
