22oz bomber -> pint
no date
Pours black with a dark mocha head that leaves a ring of lace initially but fades quickly. Carbonation appears high as bubbles line the glass. Hmm.
Nose: Burnt malt, cocoa milk,
Mouth in thin and quick. Way to thin for a stout. Typical burnt malt notes, milk chocolate, .Lacking any bitterness. The mouth is way to thin to make this one standout, and by the time I finish the bomber the beer seems flat.
This one would probably make a good session stout for someone looking for a start, but doesn't stand up the big boys, yet. I say yet, because I can see this beer improving as Rust Belt gains some maturity. Give it a try.

I think I bought this from Ledger's in early 2017.
Pours not quite black, dark brown, with a tan head 1/4". Aroma is the usual roasted malt but there is a slight prune and dark fruit bitterness that I wasn't expecting (checks label to verify this isn't a Russian Imperial Stout).
Taste is pretty standard. The low abv isn't going to do its ratings any favors here at Imperial Beer Advocate. There's the roasted malt, dark fruit note that was in the nose. The carbonation as many reviews point out, did seem slightly low, but not so much that I would dock score wise on it. Hint of licorice, could do without that. Its got a bit of ashiness to it, but its namesake is coke oven, that is literally supposed to be that way I think. The mouth feel and color makes me think they might have done a little better if there was more. I dunno, this one comes off more like a porter if you can make the distinction.

Wanted to give this local a shot, price was right, planets lined up. Looked great. Pitch black with some frothy beige head. Fell off from there. Very little in the way of aroma, nothing noticeable or familiar. Lacked roastiness, lacked bitterness. Very blah. Thin on the mouthfeel, even for a standard, low ABV stout. Everyone in my homebrew crew has crafted a stout that blows this away (some from extract). Do not seek this out.

Poured out of a growler...
Very dark. Head dissipates quickly, but it laces nicely on my glass. Usual coffee, and chocolate tastes. Overall a very solid stout. Very smooth going down, hence the 5% abv. I enjoyed this very much, and will look this up again.
