Our Trippel has always been a big, beautiful Belgian-style ale, but in 2015, we tweaked the recipe to include a new yeast variety and even more complex malt profile. This golden beer opens with a bold blast of spicy Noble hops, courtesy of Saaz and Hallertau Mittlefruh, and gives way to the fruity aromas offered by our traditional Belgian yeast. Brewed with Pilsner and Munich malts, Trippel is classically smooth and complex, and sings with a high-note of sweet citrus before a pleasantly dry finish delivers a warm, strong boozy bite. Give Trippel a sip to get you smiling.

This is courtesy of bdrc. Thanks Bro. 12 oz. bottle into my Chimay chalice. A one and a half finger head from a regular pour that settles into a film on the top. A beautiful clear amber-gold with light carbonation activity. Faint lacing on the glass.
Smells of sour apple and wine. Light hop florals and a core of light sweet malt. There is a yeasty note ( bready ) and faint banana as well.
Apple like vinous palate and a malt foundation combine to create a less sweet and intriguing front. Hops come in midway and bring out the light sweetness underlying the ale. There is a subtle wild yeast funkiness mixed in. The finish is lightly tart and dry punctuated by a slightly herbal hop note. The banana from the nose shows up here and ties it all together nicely. A drying tartness remains with winelike notes.
Mouthfeel is very nice. Good medium weight and gently active carbonation.
Quite drinkable as the alcohol is nearly invisible and the beer itself is not that filling. I could certainly enjoy several without batting an eye.
It is possible that the bottle could be off as I have had it for a month and my experience does not mirror others I have read. A different take on a tripel. Less sweet and more like a good dry white wine. A Belgian ale nonetheless.

Much better taste and the aroma is better too. Flavor is much maltier with a delicate sweetness and notes of coriander and spice. Banana is bigger with bits of Belgian funk and a touch of light fruits. Firm hops give a great finish. Still dry with a graininess in the feel that makes it superbly quenching and drinkable.

A good trippel. What feels different with this one is that it is very crisp and light. Does not taste alcohol as much as others. There is the typical spice for Belgian beers. I like it.

Clean crisp complimented with notes of cardamom. Classic style with hints of spice good for holiday season.

From a 12oz bottle dated Enjoy By: 26 May 24 into a pint glass.
Pours an ever so slightly hazy yellowish orange with about two fingers of white head. Incredible retention and lacing.
Smells fruity...some banana and citrus with clove and some baking spices.
Taste is kind of fruity sweet with some cinnamon and nutmeg in the background.
Medium bodied and pretty smooth drinking with a fairly dry finish. Medium to high carbonation. Yeasty aftertaste.
Not a style I grab often but this is enjoyable enough.

What a great beer. I try to avoid scoring all components of a beer equally, but I could not avoid it with this one.
Color: Beautiful bright yellow.
Smell: Tons of different fruit aromas, most notably banana. Also some mild spice notes in there.
Taste: Excellent with more fruit flavors coming in as well as some hops.
Feel: Crisp, clean, and very noticeably dry. Has a very refreshing finish.
Overall this is a super solid brew that I would strongly recommend to anyone. I love the strong ABV and the easy drinkability. The lacing was absolutely gorgeous as well. This is one hell of a beer!

Not a big New Belgium fan, but credit where it's due. It could do with more on the nose, because I get more banana on the tongue than on the sniff. Even then, the taste doesn't have the depth of lower-production beers. Still, it's imminently drinkable. The carbonation in some of the Belgian classics can be a frustrating, belch-inducing hurdle. This one is dangerously drinkable.

A golden color with a clear look. The smell is wonderful sweet and fruity citrus with a similar taste. The feel is a bit thin but overall a wonderful sweet trippel.

Smooth, sweet, and imminently drinkable. A session beer with a (relatively) high ABV? Yes please! It’s so inoffensive as to be forgettable in a sense. That may be its greatest downfall. However, that golden ale look, the Pilsner notes in the taste, and the smooth delivery make this one I will go back to with glee!
