A: A lovely medium brown in color, clear, with a tan head.

S: Grapefruit peel, and orange, perhaps a little lemon grass. A lot of citrus apparently.

T: Lots of nice hops, some pine resin and citrus with a nice spice flavor in the finish. The finish also has a little bit of that New Belgium biscuit flavor that shows up in fat tire.

M: Medium light body, with fairly high carbonation.

O: Lots of hop flavor, and a pretty interesting brew.

I love Rye IPAs, and this one does not disappoint. In fact, out of the IPAs I've had from New Belgium, this one is the best (the others being Rampant and Ranger). I don't if it is the use of rye, or the strategic blend of some of the best hops, namely Mosaic and Simcoe. But this delivers in both fruity hop taste and aroma, the right amount of bitter bite, and the subtle amber backbone.

Part of a mix twelve pack picked up at Round Rock HEB.

Very pretty looking beer. Great pour...almost looked like a nitro. Big head that left great lacing. Bright copper colored clear pour.

Fresh scent of flowery hops, rye, and some caramel. Smells delicious. Hop forward with some caramel malt and spicy rye on the back
end.

I think this might be one of NB's best. Just a clean, tasty, easy drinking brew. Flavorful but not overwhelming. Good job guys.

Nice copper color with very good lacing.
Smell of the fruity Mosaic hops with slight dank of the Galaxy hops.
Taste is balanced with slight malt spicy sweetness with the fruity dank hops flavor and bitterness.
Mouthfeel is smooth.
Overall very good IPA with good balance.

12oz bottle as part of the Spring Folly Revival 12-pack... Pours clear copper/golden... nice white head that leaves great lacing.. Rye crisp dry toastiness is very abundant and so are CCC hops... Definitely compliment each other and are not out of whack... Nice dry finish with a great rye element.. Bitter hops help dry things out... very tasty and begs for another sip.

RyePA brewed by New Belgium Brewing, with a 6.60% ABV. This brew pours out a deep amber color with a small white head. The smell of RyePA is rich with hops. Then you pick up on the grains and malts. This brew has the look and smell of most IPA's brews on the market, not saying that is a bad thing. Now for the taste, it is bold with flavors. You first pick up on the boldness and bitterness of hops. Then you pick up on the smoothness of grins and malts. There is a lot going on in this IPA. RyePA has a nice balance to it, there is nothing overpowering about this brew. The mouthfeel of RyePA, is rich, bold, clean, and refreshing. You really can't pick up on the 6.60% ABV of this brew, it is just that smooth. This was better than what I was expecting . Overall I'm giving RyePA a 4.5 out of 5. I would buy this brew again. New Belgium Brewing, did a nice job with this one.

Hop Kitchen - RyePA - New Belgium Brewing, as part of the seasonal "Folly" variety pack. Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, this beer's head is two fingers thick and off-white, with web-like lacing, and a clear oak brown body.

Smells like a nicely executed blend of juicier hops and rye malts. This oughtta be good...

I taste a sweeter, cleaner version of what I've described in the aroma. Wow, what a balanced taste here of juicy hops with rye tartness. This is just...hang on a sec *takes another quaff*.

Mouthfeel here is clean and surprisingly quenching. Mild carbonation.

Overall, I'll choose rate my first B.A. brew of the year with a very solid 4.75. I mean, if we're "reviewing to the style", this will be tough to dethrone IMO. I implore thee, PLEASE get the new Folly pack& go for this ASAP!
