Appearance - chestnut color with tan head

Smell - nuts, chocolate, pumpernickel, cherry, hint of cinnamon

Taste - nuts, cherries, figs, raisins, pumpernickle, tobacco

Mouthfeel - medium bodied, medium carbonation, slight sweetness upfront from the dark fruits, back end has a tobacco mustiness

Overall - nice iteration of a belgian style dubbel. Worth a shot for lovers of the style.

Price Point - $1.99/12 oz single

12 bottle in pint glass.

L: Pours a deep amber color with a 2-finger head. The head went down fairly quickly, but it left a nice lacing on the glass.

S: Very nice nose. Caramel tones, with some fruit and bread notes.

T/F: Very nice and balanced flavor, with a strong malt presence, but not overly sweet. Good carbonation with a creamy mouthfeel, but without that yeasty feel I get with some Belgians.

O: Excellent beer. I could see this becoming a regular in my rotation, to balance out some of my hop heavy choices.

S-caramel, dark fruit, no hop presence
T-lots of caramel, with a bit of dark fruit/raisin flavor, nice hop balance, some dry biscuit balance in the finish
M-medium bodied with slightly above carbonation
O-very solid dubbed with great balance

Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a Schlafly tulip glass. Pours a nice, rich brown with a thin tan creamy head. Wonderful Belgian taste, creamy with medium feel. A very nice representation of the style. Only bought a single bottle this time, but will be buying six next time.

From bottle to tulip beer glass

Look - pours dark amber with a medium head and decent lacing

Smell - little plum, bready, toasted malt

Taste - again, the toasted malt hits me first, pleasently followed by carmel and plum. Not overly complex, but a good mix of flavors that finish well

Feel - medium body. Perfect for me.

Overall - pleased with the beer, would buy again.

On tap in Yokohama's Antenna America.

L: Gorgeous amber with finger tan head and excellent lacing.

S: Strong malt character, plum, brown sugar, licorice and alcohol.

T: Smooooooth transition from ripe plum and banana to bread.

F: Very creamy and medium bodied.

O: Quite like a Chimay Red but the smell isnt as profound. Still an excellent beer.
