12 ounce bottle poured into a New Belgium globe glass

A: Pours a deep, rich mahogany red with a tan colored head, looks a little thin but it has a really beautiful color, beer is clear, no lacing or retention.

A: Spice, Belgian yeast, bananas, dark fruits like figs, dates, plums, burnt brown sugar, caramel malts, aromas are rich and complex yet subtle, no alcohol on the nose.

T: Follows the nose with deep, rich, complex notes, spice, yeast, banana, dark fruits, finish has notes of caramel malts and burnt brown sugar, alcohol is not noticeable on the taste.

M: Medium bodied, slightly lighter than other dubbels I've tasted, slightly dry finish, smooth, creamy mouthfeel with a good amount of carbonation.

O: This beer has lots of deep, rich, and complex flavors and aromas, however, it's not as flavorful as other dubbels I've tasted and it's a little thin but it's a great value and very enjoyable to drink.

Pours a dark clear brown with a white head. Smells of yeast, bananas, spices, and malts. Tastes of sweet malt, banana bread, Belgian yeast, and mild spices. Medium in body and carbonation. Overall one of the better offers by New Belgium and a great Dubbel.

Deep Ruby - Brown color, little to no head.
Smells of caramel, dark fruits, maybe some bread, sweet, very pleasent.
Malty, not sweet at all. Good carbonation, somewhat creamy. Wee bit of bitter at the finish, that lingers for a bit.
Respectable dubble.

A surprisingly good American attempt at a Belgian Trappist beer.
