This is a very drinkable beer. It does not have a heavy feel to it. The taste is tart with just the barest hint of malt sweetness not bitter. The aroma is subtle and the beer is hazy like a wheat ale. At 6.5% abv it's a good beer to share with friends at the end of a long hot day.

Fairly opaque, fine-hazed pale amber. Used Spiegelau's witbier glass. And with the well-retaining, foamy, uniform lemon-white head, its simply gorgeous. Excellent lacing! Medicinal, grassy, spicy aromas from yeast and alcohol primarily. Quite peholic. Mildly lemony throughout, tending toward rind in the back. Light spices and medicinal up front, tartness strengthens and white bread flavor comes forth as it lingers, with strong bandaid and weak black pepper notes in the finish. Very weak hop presence a ways into the aftertaste. Tastes like its January expiration date has not yet past to me, as it is still consistent with the style and my memory of this offering from before. Higher side of medium in body. Sparse, fine, prickly carbonation although this flattens quickly in the glass, likely due to its age. Very crisp. I have something to say: feel free to brew this again a few years down the road, New Belgium. I WILL purchase.

Pours a golden colored body, very clear looking, with a big foamy white head. Has a very malty, and somewhat flowery aroma. A nice malty, hoppy balanced taste. Has a flowery, fizzy taste. Pretty decent, not too bad an example of the style.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle to a snifter the liquid is orangish yellow with good carbonation. The head is close to 2 fingers. white and leaves little lace.
The smell is ok mostly yeasty, and a light malt.
The taste follows i nice light malt, bready, not very complex, yeast and some light fresh fruit.
The mouthfeel is close to medium body, with good carbonation.
The drinkability is good a light easy drinking refresher, worth a try but not a replete trip. Prosit, MK

As it sets in the glass after the pour from the 12 ounce glass, a clear golden amber with a substantial bright white creamy head last and last, finally when it does settle, the lace provides a firm sheet to obscure the glass. Ah, the nose, wet hay and the old barnyard, hints of hops and spices, sweet and true to the style, start is perfectly malted, nice touch of sweet and sour, top medium in feel. Finish has a pleasing bit of sweetness along side the tangy hop spiciness; quite dry aftertaste glues itself to the palate, a fine addition to the style, which is a favorite of mine.
