12 ounce bottle poured into a globe glass

A: Pours dark brown with mahogany edges when held up, decent amount of lacing and retention, good amount of carbonation.

A: Lots of dark chocolate notes, light roasted coffee, malts, soft dark fruit notes, smells more like a porter/stout than a lager.

T: Like the nose, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, roasted malts, figs, dates, plums, touch of dark cherries, lots going with this beer, low bitterness, finish is slightly dry with chocolate notes lingering in the aftertaste.

M: Light/medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation and smooth finish.

O: Really enjoyed this beer as it has all the notes of a porter/stout without the bitterness, but I like bitter beers. Faint notes of the lager yeast as the beer warms, definitely pick this up again especially during the colder months.

Pours a dark brown almost black color. Opaque to light. Thin tan head dissipates slowly but never fully.

Smell has notes of malt, barley, a barnyard - hay like aroma.

Taste has notes of grain, spice - its actually surprisingly spicy, some chocolate, and grassy hops.

Feel is light and drinkable. Medium carbonation. Pretty smooth feel.

Overall its alright - not a particularly inspiring example of the style and not one Id pick up again.

For me the beer is a little off balance on alcohol notes, which is weird at 5.6%. That balance fades a bit as you drink more of the glass. There are definite chocolate notes and lager malt flavors, which kind of comes out as chocolate milk. It poured a little flat in a lager glass. The flavor notes are quick and then the drink finished dry, they don't linger. The beer (I would guess) is made for having a few, but something that is not a typical lager. One of the more interesting lagers that I have had, I wanted it to meld a little bit better.

Deep brown, partially opaque with off white head and solid lacing.

Flavors are milk chocolate followed by light cola and with light pine in the background. Light body makes it easy going.

Pretty good.
