Going to skip the detailed review this time around.

O: It's good and it does have good hop flavor, but it is really lacking that POP that makes you go back for another sip. Feels like it's missing some bitterness. I'll finish this 6-pack in a sitting, but probably won't buy again. Wouldn't discourage buying it, but I don't think this in an IPA.

i have been wanting so badly to like new belgium releases lately. i recall fondly the days where belgo and mothership wit stocked my fridge, and i had a lot of respect for these guys for a long time. lately its been weird fruits and trend following not setting. i was let down by this one again. everyone, and i do mean everyone, is doing a citrus fruit ipa these days, so can you blame them for jumping on board? im fine with that i guess, but the execution of the beer is poor. this isnt an ipa. i get some citra hops sure, but its a pale ale at best, almost no hop bitterness here, instead relying on the orange peel for that, but its such a different flavor that it fills in poorly, and there is more malt here than necessary. it just doesnt accomplish the goal, or what i would interpret the goal to be, which is a refreshing fruit accented ipa thats highly drinkable. for me the grain weight and the residual sugar limit that goal, and the relative lack of hop flavor is off putting. it seems generic and plain for supposedly being citra driven, and i just dont dig it all that much. for what seems like the tenth time in a row or more, they have played it way too safe. do their brewers drink this stuff? or is this a commercial effort? its really tough to tell anymore. seems like some of the passion for innovation and risk taking has gone away lately with these guys. not a bad beer, but really pedestrian.

Citradelic Tangerine IPA. 12oz bottle best before 15may16. Beer pours a pale yellow-orange and forms a moderate white head. Aroma is sweet and distinctly more tangerine than orange. Flavor is markedly more bitter, bringing out citrus rind both in the body and with a lingering mildly bitter aftertaste. Both in the nose and on the palate I find the citrus contrasts more than accentuates the natural hop flavors. Sculpin this is not.

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours clear and deep straw in color with a finger of whitish foam. Touch of haze appears at first but clears up swiftly. Moderate retention and light lace follow though no visible carbonation in the liquid.

Nothing to speak of on the aroma when cold, warming up to offer some reaching notes of citrus and a bit of pine in the background. Pleasant enough but offers a very light hop profile which expands a bit with warming but never gets going. Not much different in the taste department. Smooth, somewhat juicy yet a bit watery on the finish. Bit more citrus on the finish yet lacking much of a perceived spice or bitterness. Overall rather forgettable. Give me a Ranger..

12 oz. bottle, enjoy by date May 22, 2016. Acquired a single bottle of this stuff as part of a mixed six pack at the local Binny's. 'Tangerine IPA brewed with tangerine, orange peel, and orange'.

Poured into a Duvel tulip snifter.

A - Nice golden pour with some bubble show. Nice clarity in the body, with over two fingers of thick frothy white head on top with excellent staying power.

S - The smell is actually more subdued than I would have expected. The orange / tangerine / citrus is apparent, but not nearly as strong or fruity as I hoped for. A bit of golden malt presence in there also. A subtle, but pleasant aroma.

T - Taste is the same - much more subdued than I would have thought, considering all the delicious citrus fruit that went into this. Tangerine / orange, and citrus is apparent, but not even as fruity or juicy as some other IPA's I've had that didn't include fruit. A bit of grainy rye malt accompaniment.

M - Feel is thin and watery, especially per the style. At 6.00% abv, it drinks more like 4.50%. Sessionable, but it doesn't have the fuller body I would look for in an IPA of this caliber.

Overall, decent drinking stuff, but I'd say it could benefit from some tweaking. Slightly disappointed, especially since the hype surrounding this one was good.

From newbelgium.com, this beer has 10 different hops! Nugget, Crystal, Centennial, Azzaca, Cascade, Citra, Chinook, Galaxy, Mandarina Bavaria, Simcoe. Also Pale and Caramel 120 malts and tangerine infused orange peel.

Pours golden orange, leaning toward the orange. Crystal clear with a 2 finger mounding white head. Light carbonation is evident.

The aroma is amazing! Not surprising with eleven different hops. Definite citrus and tropical fruits. Hints of pineapple and mango, with tangerine and citrus peel, light caramel and herbs.

Taste is sweet and citrusy upfront, caramel in the middle, and a moderate bitterness appears in the end as the citrus fades.

Medium in body, somewhat crisp and drying.

I do love a hoppy beer, especially one hopped with citra and then kicked up, so it's no surprise I think this is a great brew. The fruitiness is "in your face" but yet it doesn't overpower the bitterness. Well balanced, tasty, and aromatic.

First had poured from 12-oz. bottle, stamped enjoy by "15MAY16," into pint tulip. Made with tangerine peel, this drinks more like an unbalanced session IPA than a 6.00 ABV ale.

12 Oz Bottle poured into glass
Look - Mostly clear, golden color with thick foam head, good lacing on glass
Smell - Strong tangerine aroma as if you freshly sliced one. Not much else there. Fairly sweet.
Taste - Wow quite an attack of orange on the palate. Not quite orange juice, but the tangerine flavor is overtaking anything else. Hop bitterness only comes in at the very end and in aftertaste but this isn't really bitter. Some malt to balance but i don't want more malt, the only problem i have is too strongly tangerine flavored. Just a bit too much. Carbonation medium. Fairly drinkable for an IPA but its not a flavor profile i want more than one of. The more i drink it the more it reminds me of a citronella candle....

Overall, quite interesting, never had one of these before. Not for me but that being said enjoyable and a decent product.
Grade is B+

I had this poured from the bottle

it has a good aroma and nice citrus flavors...the hops are not too strong - well balanced with the citrus.

enjoyed this beer and would have it again

Golden Orange in color. Clear in appearance. Pretty decent. The tangerine and orange comes off a bit fake tasting. Thinner bodied with higher carb. Easy drinking. Overall, not bad.

Pale blonde straw color with 100% transparency. Lace is impressive with the rings, and head starts out strong being rocky, creamy, and stringy.

Aroma delivers what's on the label. Tangerine, tangelo, and fresh OJ. A touch of baked sugar and malts, just a great aroma overall.

Flavor delivers as well, but a shot of water washes out what could be an explosive tangerine party. It comes off tasting more like a seltzer water with a drop or two of orange juice. I feel it sabotages, nay, handicaps itself from what could easily be a knockout citrus beer. Trailing flavors of tangelo pith.

Feel is much like 7 up with the extreme carbonation and it dies off leaving a fizzy finish.

Overall this beer could be much better with less water and more squeezed citrus. It's not bad by any stretch - but it's just underwhelming. New Belgium - go back to the drawing board, you have a great idea here and lots of potential...but add some flavor, guys! Cut the seltzer!

Enjoy by date is June 6 of 2016.
LOOKS: Poured pretty aggressively into a Nonic pint glass, left an inch of white head that lingers. Very clear, amber-orange in color. Mild amount of tiny bubbles steaming up the glass. Mild lacing down the glass.
AROMA: Orange cream pops, the citrus is definitely there, but it's not blowing my head off. Still, easy to see what they're going after, here. A little bready malt and a yeasty quality.
TASTE: Again, some orange and bready sweetness from the malt, but this beer just does not POP, unfortunately.
MOUTHFEEL: Carbonation is adequate. Not a sticky beer but not really dry until the finish. Medium-thin body.
OVERALL: A bit of a let down. An above average (2.5+) IPA, but the aroma and flavors just seem muted and are pretty two dimensional, to me. I'll take a Deschutes Fresh Squeezed over this one any day.

Finding themselves on the Citra bandwagon, the New Belgium brewers amplify the premiere with generous additions of oranges and orange peel for a juicy, vibrant and racing taste of tangerine that's tough to match.

Citradelic pours a familiar bright gold, but perhaps with an added orang-tinted hue. Streaming carbonation fuels a creamy and loosely sculpted froth that breams with the ripest of citrus fruit. Tangerine, red grapefruit and lemon tease the nose while a supple sweet taste coats the tongue with light caramel and honey that's suggestive of fructose and lightly toasted grain.

While the malt influence shows a rapid dissolve, the hops quickly overtake the sweetness, toastiness, grain, and nutty attributes and sell its citrus quality in bold esteem. Trending bitter and perfumy, its taste develops into a pleasant grassy taste with mild spruce as the alcohol gives the late palate a curious character of furniture polish.

Medium-light and flirting with the grainy side of dryness, the ale is smooth in its late bittering and otherwise crisp, clean and refreshing. Though the Citra hops character is moderate, its actual orange taste is subdued and lets the hops showcase themselves well- even in its herbaceous, botanican and near-catty aftertaste.

A: [4.00] Very clear amber/red colored beer. It has a 1/2 finger of white head on top. The head is sticky and clings to the glass in nice arcs of lacing. The bottle lists the ABV (6.0%) and there is a born on date (04/16/2016).

S: [4.25] Pineapple, orange, pine, grass. Lots of enticing scents.

T: [4.00] Similar the the nose. Lots of pine, orange rind, lemon, pineapple.

M: [3.25] The beer feels a little under carbonated this makes it feel watery. The finish is pretty quick and there is not much lingering.

O: [3.75] This is a decent IPA. It has nice flavor and aroma. Lots of citrus and tropical things going on. I thought it felt a little watery which is my biggest quibble. It is still a good beer and worth drinking again.

Poured into small glass: color is gold, bright white head with fine to medium sized bubbles and lacing.

Smell is bitter hop, citrus rind and touch of tangerine/orange sweetness.

Taste is clean, a little too clean but it does allow the tangerine flavor to come through fairly prominently; hops are lightly bitter, citrus rind.

Mouthfeel is crisp, bitter with a twinge of lingering citrus sourness.

Overall, a very good citrus infused ipa, very drinkable and a good one for a hot day.

Pours a clear amber and golden color with a simple and modest head and frothy cap that retains well.
Aroma consists of light citruses, tangerine and grapefruit, and toasted biscuit.
Clean, crisp and mineral like on the tongue. The citrusy flavors for some reason did not come out as much. The hops dominated but not overwhelmed; they provided a gently pine prickliness.
Overall, although this did not blow me away, it is a decent and sessionable lighter bodied IPA that is easy to drink.

Enjoy by: 6/5/16.

Pours a clear dark honey orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus fruit, citrus juice, citrus zest, and tropical fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus fruit, citrus juice, and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and super easy to drink.

Serving type: bottle.

Clear golden pour with a touch of amber. Normal head volume, outstanding lacing and retention.

Very nice nose, but a tad light, of tangerine, a touch of rind and other weak citrus over biscuit.

Light medium body with a smooth texture. World class carbonation with a burst of effervescence in the middle and a finely bubbled surge in the prickly finish.

The outstanding flavor profile is reasonably intense, well balanced and moderately complex. It begins with a slightly sweet biscuit (that is both grainy and doughy) then flows to citrus. Subtle orange notes lead then morph into tangerine with a noticeable rind influence. The middle brings a light to moderate bitterness that is rind centered. As the bitterness starts to ebb, tangerine becomes dominate over subtle orange. The finish has a touch of dryness and leaves you with a slow tangerine fade.

This IPA has more citrus flavor than most without it being overwhelming. Less carbonation than others makes it easier to enjoy with dinner. Tangerine taste is very natural and lingers nicely.

You can tell this is a juiced up ale right away from the nose. Lots of sweet orange and citrus scents. If you dig deeper you get a malt round out of the bouquet. Taste follows but isn't as sweet as expected somewhat offset by mild blended bitter hops. Actual pretty smooth and drinkable without anything astringent on the finish. I'm getting a fairly wet and lively carbonated finish with this beer. Would revisit.
