Much like the other beer I've tried in the Lips of Faith series, Eric's Ale, this one is a good introductory sour. It's more just heavily tart, and slightly funky, with less fruit emphasis and more fruity hops.

I'm no hop expert, but apparently, the amarillo hops that were dry-hopped help bring out a fruity element, and I definitely got that both in the nose and taste - slight nectarine, some apricot and mango, a hint of pineapple. There's a nice mix here between sweet and tart, and it's not too puckerish and it doesn't rub your tongue raw like Eric's Ale or stronger sours. There's also a nice, yeasty, fermented funk to this beer, but again, we're not talking about a brett-bomb.

The fact that this isn't a fruit beer and the hops still have this juicy effect on it is impressive. If it weren't so damn expensive, I'd go for this one again. The presentation alone - mild fizz, nice initial haze that dissipates after a bit, and a gorgeous dark orange glow - make it one to try.

Nice drinkable sour that didnt have an overpowering funkiness that La Folie has. Appearance has a nice orange glow with a wine like fizziness and dry on the palete.

A - Hazy orange appearance with a thin white head that dissipates to a small ring quickly.

S - Sour. Earthy funkiness - hay, dirt. Lightly citrusy hops in the background.

T - Awesome. Sharp sourness takes over, but then gives way to a complex brett character. Hay, sweat, vinegar, dirt. A lingering hop flavor from the amarillo dry hop. Just fabulous.

M - Medium light bodied. Moderate carbonation.

O - First beer I've had from the lips of faith series. Just an awesome brew. Really well made.
