A nice darker golden color, almost honey golden. Two and a half finger of white soapy head. Nice carbonation, just not very vigorous. Nice lacing all down my glass as well.

Smell is like someone smashed some mangos and pineaplle against a pine tree while the sap was running. Lots of tropical in a pine forest thing going on.

Taste is thick sweet malts. Picking up some fruit rinds, maybe some mango and orange rind. That pine haunts the flavor and does not really show itself but lets you know it is in the taste.

Mouthfeel is medium and chewy leaving a slickness behind.

Overall I feel almost like the malt bill overpowered the hops a bit. I did enjoy the beer but did find it a bit thick and chewy in malts while attempting to dig more into the hops. The ABV does not show at all unless it may be in that bit of thickness in the beer. Definitely finding this to be very sweet as I go into it. Hope the review helps you find your path to Vodoo Liquid Paradise, or not.

A: The beer is clear amber yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left lots of lacing on the surface and down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of mango are present in the nose along with hints of pine.
T: The taste starts off with flavors of mangos and has hints of grapefruit and pine. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and rather crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I really liked the aromas and flavors of tropical fruits in this IPA and the grapefruit and pine added a little complexity to the taste. It is very drinkable.

FORMAT: 12 fl oz can. Standard pull tab. Blue and pink label with white text. Best before 16 Jun 2019. Cost was $8.47 USD per sixer.

7.8% ABV. "IPA." From their website: "Using Mosaic Incognito, Azacca and Cascade hops, Liquid Paradise boasts a mélange of tropical notes to create a delicately bitter and extremely aromatic IPA." From BSJ: "Nugget, Azacca, and Munich [sic] hops were also added to round out the Mosaic Incognito profile. Expect “bursts of guava, mango, grapefruit and white grape” in this medium-bodied beer." 44 IBUs. Malts: Pale, Caramel 20, Oats, Munich

Served cold into a nonic half-pint.

APPEARANCE: Pours a vibrant copper body. Clear, lacking any visible yeast/lees...seemingly filtered.

Head is ~1cm in height, white in colour, and isn't particularly creamy, frothy, or otherwise remarkable.

AROMA: Certainly tropical, though not as Mosaic-emphatic as I'd hoped, lacking the hop's signature distinct blueberry note. Mango rind, white grape, zest. 2-row/pale malt is evident, but I don't pick up as much on caramel or Munich, let alone oats. Cascade's bright floral character is present but not spotlighted.

Aromatic intensity is average. Suggests a balanced tropical IPA with an enjoyable but not dazzling hop profile.

TASTE: Floral and tropical, meeting the expectations created by the aroma. I do get some white grape/zinfandel in the late second act, but I'm not finding the vivid floral hop flavours and subtle blueberry flavour I'd expect in a great IPA hopped with Cascade and Mosaic. This seems more interested in Azacca, which wouldn't be my preferred hop flavour given those utilized. 2-row keeps it balanced and I don't pick up on overt caramalt, which is a good thing, but it's not dialed in to an ideal level of balance and its depth of flavour is wanting.

TEXTURE: Medium-bodied. Well-carbonated. Smooth. Wet. Somewhat refreshing.

Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, harsh, rough, or scratchy.

Texture is approachable but fails to highlight specific flavours or to elevate the beer as a whole.

OVERALL: A likable but forgettable tropical IPA widely available at a fair price...so, basically, exactly what one would expect from New Belgium. I could see myself buying this again only if stranded in a beer market devoid of better local options, but then I'd probably sooner reach for Deschutes or Lagunitas if available. I'll enjoy polishing off my sixer, but it's not a dazzling beer nor did I expect it to be.

Tropical sweetness with some dry bittering hops. Nice legs, and good lacing. Not sure if this matters to craft beer drinkers anymore but after the first taste seeing the legs and the lacing lets you know the quality of the beer as well as if it will last in the glass for a sipper or a one a done drain pour.
This has nice mango and pineapple with some dryness on the end and a slight oily tongue. It’s not perfect but crafted well. I don’t even know if the word perfect is necessary here but it’s a beer that I would get anywhere and be ok with 3 or 4. The abv is a little high but it’s tasty. Alcohol hidden very well and worth the purchase for the fact that this beer is very well put together.

Looks great with a perfect mouth feel and big, foamy head but the taste and smell didn’t work for me. Funky with a background tropical flavor. Not awful but I wouldn’t recommend.

Poured from can to shaker pint. Clear golden yellow with a finger of soapy, creamy foam. Leaves rings of lace. Aroma is slightly metallic, with berry and papaya. Flavor is juicy, full of tropical (papaya, guava, pineapple), honey, and berry. Slightly oily, medium feel: quite nice.

Clear yellow brew with a long-lasting foam in the Crooked Line tulip. Highly aromatic with lime and grapefruit dominating. There's a pleasant kind of woody note. Sharp and sudsy mouthfeel.

Quite tangy and fruity. Tangerine peel with a taste of alcohol. Moderate bitterness with just enough sugar to mellow it some. Quite powerful but refined, a surprisingly good IPA compared to many more ostentatious brands. From the six pack of 12 oz cans purchased at the supermarket.

12 oz. Can best by: 4/28/19. Opened on 2/5/19

A pure golden color, lively carbonation, silky white tower of foam holds on tight. There is constant foam coverage( a pretty thick layer) and lots 'o lace streaming down.

The nose is full of very aromatic hop notes, earthy and hetbal citrus blend first, white pepper and mango comes next ending grainy, with golden wheat and summer grasses.

The first has a very earthy and golden grains style malty charecteristic, but it's also enhanced by the higher alpha acids in the hops, as the earthiness is also delightfully bitter in the finish. Pine tree sap and black pepper dash the middle, as some citrus and spritzer zing pops out next from this unique hop complexity.

Wildly drinkable and pretty damn unique in the overall flavor, the mouthfeel starts out dashing and zippy, light and crisp, but then a bit of a slick, malty smoothness rides in but also seems to include layers of hoppy taste and then a semi-bitter and earthy dry hop ending brings it all home.

Not New England style, but the clear, golden malt balance sure allows the hops to be maximized as the malt holds it all down and then some.
