It's once again time to crank up our favorite Godsmack song because New Belgium is sprinkling more of heir voodoo onto the craft beer scene.
Their Liquid Paradise version of Voodoo Ranger IPA promises a tropical vacation for the tastebuds, starting out with a cloudy golden pour and a tantalizing tropical scent that hovers above a creamy white cap. Citrus, tropical fruit and peppery herbs flood the nose ahead of a sweeter cereal flavor of shortcake and honey. Soft and creamy on the palate, the hops join the sweetness with bold suggestions of pineapple, mango, orange, red grapefruit, kiwi and passionfruit and papaya. Trending smoothly bitter, the ale finishes with softer suggestions of coconut, vanilla and cream.
Full bodied, creamy and smooth throughout, the hazy IPA starts perfumy, stays juicy and finishes with a silky fruit flavor to deliver on those tropical promises.

Nice tropical malts without being sweet. Perfectly bitter. I had a Surly Furious before this beer and that one is almost too bitter it's so bold. This has nice hop undertones to balance it out.
End of the day this has become a mass produced IPA which is fine as it's still solid and an enjoyable beer.

Amazing rocky head and sparkling golden bottom upon pouring. Nose is nothing much and mediocre for an IPA. Mouthfeel is great for me and taste is malty with a banana backbone and citrus aftertaste. Overall, not bad!

12-oz can into nonic pub glass
A - low visible carbonation, transparent body of gold full of suspended sediment under 3 fingers of white foam
S - tropical fruit, touch of malty sweetness; not much going on
T - tropical fruit (pineapple, etc.), juicy, just a hint of pine, grassy bitterness, grapefruit, biscuity malt; definitely on the sweet side for the Voodoo Ranger series
M - thick medium/full body, medium/low carbonation
O - very nice IPA on the fruity and sweet side

Draft at Craft Brewers. Pretty straightforward IPA, light citrus, some tropical notes, sharp hops. Clear golden pour , light foamy head. Standard fare.

I got a can of this beer from a mixed Christmas holiday 6pck that my sista and BRAH-in-law got me for Christmas. It poured a clear golden with thin white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had mango and pineapple notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright tropical citrus fruit presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

I've had so many IPAs, it's hard sometimes to distinguish one from the other, they all are about the same from one to another. But this one is different, mostly in its scent. Where the vast majority focus on a citrus blend for smell and taste, this had a strong and delicious smell and taste of apricots. A fruit that doesn't get much pub, but definitely something I'll be on the lookout for moving forward.
