Review is from notes: Hazy and smells amazing, like a basket of tropical fruit. The taste leaves something to be desired with too much citrus juice and booze... plus I detest the "Voodoo" branding fwiw

12oz can, served in can glass. Moderate to heavy hazy and extreme foam. Aroma doesn't do much for me, but flavor has a burst of fruity pineapple and orange tropical fruit flavors. There's also traditional hop bitterness sufficient to balance out the fruit. But to my palate this lacks the complexity and depth of flavor that I'd expect from a high gravity NE IPA like this. It does hide the 7.7% ABV well, but it's just kind of more bland than I'd hope.

Dated 22 Aug 2021 (presumably best by). That's more than a month away, otherwise I might blame my mediocre reception on an old can.

Pours a very hazy orangish/yellow color with a big fluffy white head which lingers. Peach is especially pronounced on the nose along with mango. Taste follows the nose with the sweetness of peach and mango, followed by a mild hop resinous bite. Solid NE IPA although the hoppy bite at the end is mildly unbalanced for a finish.

12oz can purchased from the fridge as part of a mix-a-six pack for $2. Has a best buy date of 7/18/2021; I am guessing that this was canned around 3/18/2021, so we can estimate that this approximately 3 months old.

Look: A golden clear color with lots of small particulate floaties. A very thin frothy white head caps it off. Decent head retention and lacing.

Smell: On the nose - very pungent dank/vegetal (green bell pepper for sure) notes. A bit of peach and orangey citrus thrown in, but it's dominated by very sharp and pungent notes. Smells very similar to the Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze IPA, perhaps a bit more open but very similar notes.

Taste: It has a nice juiciness and also a sharp, moderately bitter finish. It's not too sweet and I find it to be quite drinkable. Up front, lots of citrus juiciness and flavor with orange and lemon peel. The finish has sharp, peppery, and piney notes with a resinous bitterness that is moderate yet lingers long. This beer refreshes the palate nicely and it leaves you with a relatively crisp, dry finish that makes you want to drink more. Interesting that I am getting a bit of peaty smokiness on the finish after I poured the bottom of the bottle.

Feel: The mouthfeel is light to medium and it is crisp and clean.

Overall: There's something about this that I really like and at the same time, it's not super impressive and almost as unimpressive as the other Voodoo Ranger beers that I have had. But I think that this one may be the best Voodoo Ranger beer that I have had so far. For sure, it's the most drinkable. For me, this is actually a sessionable beer.

Pretty decent hazy/juicy IPA. Not overly complex with the flavor profile but good for a mass produced beer.

Pours golden color with nice white foamy cap. Light IPA with little on the nose but big on the juicy bite. Really nice IPA with a good IPA bite at a respected 7.7% ABV. Part of Costco mixer case - good find from New Belgium.

May 9, 2021 - Hazy amber, fluffy white head, lacy; nice smell, but nothing unusual; Smooth full flavor, pleasant but not special; good mouthfeel, medium carbonation; It's a nice, pleasant hazy IPA.

12oz can pours out a moderately hazy pale gold with a large white head. Earthy and tropical hop notes in the form of some mango and dankness, hint of spice meet the nose. There is a noticeable malt backbone and some sweetness as well as some pungent sharpness, though there is a light-to-moderate bitterness only. Enjoyable but not super special.
