Can codes (best by) 01 Sept 2019,
190425062T163618. Still flavorful
Hazy gold, two fingers of fine white head, lively full lacing
Aroma is grapefruit pith, pale malt, sourdough bitter orange
Flavors are orange, papaya, sour pineapple, biscuit, light pine
Nice bitterness up front, outstanding carbonation throughout, medium bodied, flavors develop with warming, dry finish
My favorite of the Voodoo Ranger series. Doesn't rival the best of our local juicy IPA's but a nice option.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a Shy Bear IPA glass

L: Clear light golden pour with fluffy white head. Nice lacing.

S: Biscuits and grain. Light citrus/fruit.

T.F: Strong and typically New Belgium malt profile. Grains and earth. Light fruity hops. Some grapefruit and peach mingled with pine. Reasonably good bitterness. Oily on the tongue... lingering pine on the aftertaste.

O: A very standard New Belgium IPA and indistinguishable from the remainder of the 'Voodoo Ranger' series by my palate. Nothing special... not bad. Cool can artwork but nothing memorable about the brew.

LOOKS: Hazy, finger of white foam that sticks around, and leaves a thick lacing.
AROMA: Fruity. Oranges, grapefruit, lemon, melon, and some tropical notes.
TASTE: 5 Alive juice, low bitterness, but just enough on the finish. I'm having it very cold and this has an interesting aftertaste. Almost like a fruit/cream popsicle.
FEEL: About average carbonation, fairly dry overall, and medium body.
OA: Not bad.

Appearance – The big white head came up easily and showed good retention. The ale itself is definitely a juicy haze. Dark, dingy, and orange.

Smell – This almost smells dry-hopped with some big citrus, grapefruit, and pine, expertly balanced to excellence.

Taste- The ale falls apart at the taste. The aromatic hop nose so rich in complexity comes over flat and stale. There is zero malt balance here and no flavor to even review.

Mouthfeel – This is flat, less than medium-bodied, with no drying whatsoever.

Drinkability – One of the best noses I’ve ever smelled but otherwise a complete disappointment. This ale is barely drinkable and a blight on an otherwise very reputable brewery.

Light copper in color with a white head. The smell is tropical fruit. The taste follows the smell with a sweetness aspect. Overall a decent beer in my opinion.

N.B.V.R. Juicifer IPA has a thick, off-white head, a hazy, yellow-goldenrod appearance, and a bit of glass lacing. The aroma is of hop resin, juice, and white bread crust. The flavor is similar, with moderate bitterness. Mouthfeel is high medium, and Juicifer IPA finishes medium wet/dry.

New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Juicifer, 7.7% ABV, 50 IBU. Pours cloudy pale orange, with a half-finger white head. Nose is tropical fruit and malt, taste is sweet fruit and moderately bitter hops, though no pine noted. Decent mouthfeel, overall excellent.

smell - smells like a juicy tropical fruity bomb. Lots of citra
taste - a lot like the scent, not to bitter but lots of hoppy fruity juiciness.
feel - medium body light carbonation, slight cream
overall - excellent beer

Best by 9/15/19

Pours a slightly hazy golden orange capped with a sizeable white foam; good retention and a fair spread of thinner, soapy lacing cake the walls of the glass, while thicker froth makes up the cap.

Aroma is dominant with resinous white grape and a stiff lemony dankness in a prominent supporting role; sharp herbaceousness offers balance as well as a slight florality, while the background hints at peach, orange, and wheaty grain toward the finish.

Taste mostly follows the aroma with a prominent dank white grape and zesty lemon dankness, with maybe a bit more one-dimensionality as they slowly fall off into a ripe herbaceousness and earthy wheat character.

Mouthfeel brings a light-medium body accompanied with balanced, lightly prickly carbonation; a juicy quality is highlighted as the mid-palate peaks, leading into a slight, earthy bitterness on the finish.

An alright New England-leaning IPA I could drink without much consideration, but wouldn’t grab on its own merits; although it has its moments, the profile is lacks some character beyond its most established notes and feels mostly uninspired.

A - Bright yellow body, hazy and semitransparent, with a moderate pillowy white head. Decent lacing.

S - Pungent pine and grapefruit, tropical fruit and a bit of funk.

T - Following the nose, with a pungent pith bitter kick, and a cracker malt backbone.

M - Brisk, light for the ABV, dry finish with resin trailing.

O - Solid IPA, with some fruit flavor and a strong fruity nose. More juicy would have been expected, given the name, but solid.

Bottom of the 12 oz. Can: 08 SEP 2019
Opened on 6/1/19

A slight haze (certainly not "Hazy" style, but nowhere near clear) happens within the rusty golden color. Thick and creamy white foam cap, sticky lace, bubbly and clumpy like.

Aroma's of : Earthy citrus, green veggies and herbs, tangy fruits with a sweet, amber style malty thing that comes across as darker wheat grains and assorted nuts... it's this last aspect I find a bit odd.

The darker grains and English style--nutty, and perhaps bready malt taste pops right out. I guess you can boil it down to a more old-school approach to the IPA, but it's throwing off my idea of good balance. The proper hop attack comes in the form of herbal citrus, corn and a decent dry-grassy bite in the finish.

Light and bold mouthfeel to start, quickly dry leafy and slightly bitterness rounds it out.

With the Advent of the luxurious New England style IPA, I find that my tolerance for less complex, West Coast minded IPA's just don't cut it. Their hefty, malty backbones and possible adjuncts throws off the ability for the hop to really shine.
I've actually been enjoying the Voodoo Ranger series immensely, maybe not so much this one.

Beautiful hazy orange color with a dense, creamy off-white head that frames this beer perfectly. Not a turbid haze by any means, this is the haze that lets light and shapes through. Gorgeous beer.

The nose has juicy, spicy citrus aromas and some nice malt notes. Everything is amplified on the taste, though - there’s a heaping helping of juicy tangerines, there’s apricot, pineapple, a substantial malt flavor, and spicy pepper, all with that creamy head tracking down the glass. Man, is this well done.

The mouthfeel is spry and pugnacious - this beer has a punch. It’s widely available, it’s cost effective, and it checks a lot of boxes in the hazy, juicy IPA category. I’m glad I tried this, and I’ll try it again.

Welcome to the opening salvo of Bock Me & Bock Yinz! I Almost Forgot That It's New Evil Voodoo Twin Ranger Beer Sunday (Week 745)! It's gonna be interesting!

From the CAN: "India Pale Ale"; "Employee Owned".

I Crack!ed open the vent & went with a quick C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. This beer is prone to a LOT of foaming, so I kind of backed off & backed down to allow it to do its own thing. It did not disappoint, quickly rising up to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, French Vanilla-colored head with great retention. Color was a slightly hazy solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9). Nose was very much of tropical fruits, less citrusy than the Notes might lead you to believe. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but on the approach, certainly big for the style. The taste was a mélange of sweet tropical fruits and bitter citrus fruits. Mango & papaya, meet grapefruit! Have a blast, kids! The flavors seemed to take turns in their prevalence, first sweet then bitter & then sweet again. This being the case, I am going to say that the finish was semi-dry, although I would not argue against dry. It was definitely an AIPA & while not precisely the flavor profile that I really dig, I had no problem in drinking three (3) of them over the past few days. I'm not sure how well it would fare as the CANtents of a Summer cooler, though. The ABV is a bit high & I would be satiated with this one fairly quickly. YMMV.

Big, strong, fluffy snow white head production, ~3 fingers from a strong pour. Retention is very good, and lacing is fantastic. Body is hazy, as expected, allowing silhouettes to penetrate. No sign of particulate or floaties. Dark lemon-yellow, almost mango colored.

Nose is juicy and herbal as expected, with both Citra and Galaxy featuring prominently. Mango, papaya, pepper, ruby red grapefruit, lemon, oregano, basil, very mild dank tones, pineapple, passion fruit, mild berries.

Full of flavor, with plenty of malt body accompanying the hops: pepper, earth, grass, cracker (almost a hint of Pils malt, although that's due to the interplay of the hops and malt - and perhaps yeast). Hop tones are primarily tropical, with mango and papaya continuing to lead the way from the nose, alongside pine resin and sweet citrus notes - mandarin orange, ruby red grapefruit, and lemon.

Surprisingly light bodied on the palate for the ABV (borderline IIPA territory). Soft and creamy, very little bite, very low bitterness, save a grapefruit peel bite on the back end (surprising, given the 50 IBU). Long finish, with echoes of citrus pith and peel.

12 oz. can - Freshness date of 01 Sep 2019:

Pours hazed golden with large white head settles to a lasting thin cover. Web-like lacing sticks down the glass.

The smell is robust - general citric and tropical fruitiness.

The taste is of tropical and citric hops with a touch of leafy bitterness. Fruit juice character and malt give is a semi-sweet finish, with just a touch of bitterness mixed in. Some alcohol shows.

It is juicy but could be a bit smoother to get to the next level.

A nice, rather strong, interpretation of the style. While I wouldn't put it at "outstanding" it is very good overall!

Pours a light murky lemon gold. Smells abound of great citrus and fruitful bliss. The chinook and Citra hops are well defined. Taste is sweet but not too sweet will a solid malt backbone. Feel is much smoother than I expected due to the haziness brewing. Overall this is quite a pungent brew at 7.7 that will grow on you as you get to the second glass. Buy it when it’s available, it won’t disappoint

Pours a hazed gold with one finger pearl colored head. Very good head retention & lacing

S: Bready, faint citrus

T: Follows the nose, a little breadyness, green melon & passion fruit up front. More passion fruit & green melon, plus dryness as this warms. Finishes bready with plenty of passion fruit & a little dryness & lime

MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation, nice balance

Very drinkable, pretty good offering

On tap at Acme Bar and Pizza in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a fairly hazy light yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like sharp citrus, pine, pineapple, grass, and slight malt.

This is well balanced, and definitely leans NE-style ish. Despite that, there's still some nice bitterness/dankness here, grassiness, toasted malt, etc.

This is lighter bodied, with a nice crispness, and a great level of drinkability.

This is better than the ratings suggest for sure.

Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass best before September 8, 2019. Pours a slightly hazy orange, with a big 2 plus finger sticky white head that that leaves a thin wall of lace, with nice retention. 4

Smell is peach, melon, tangerine, mango, agave, and grapefruit. 4

Taste follows peach, melon, tangerine, agave, mango, and very balanced grapefruit bitterness. 4

Mouthfeel is a big medium, plenty of life, a tad dry, and at 7.7% ABV very drinkable. 4

Overall this is better than I was expecting, a very tasty beer and at a very reasonable price. 4

best of voodoo ranger series that I've enjoyed as of 5-18-19.

a) 12 ounce can pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a 1 finger dense, rocky off white head with strong retention and lacing.
s) Lots of complexity that rewards in the taste...
t) Predominates pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, on a base of toasted biscuit, and a finish of herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Slight dank, wet grass, fertile component, as it finishes.
f) Rich, creamy, sticky.
o) A real hop showcase.

Can, best by August 25th 2019.

It pours a hazy dark yellow with aboot an inch of foam, lacing is front and present.

A very fruity forward hop nose. Grapefruit, maybe some orange zest.

Taste is like I expected. Grapefruit citrus, orange peel, pretty bitter for what it is meant to be? Hazy or New England style? Falls short in my book.

Mouthfeel is okay but I'm glad that I only bought a single. It's all that I want.
