Haze gold appearance with a creamy white head. Great retention and lacing. Tons of floaties and chunks, though.
Aromas of honey, (age?) candied pineapple and mango, mandarin orange.
Loads of mango, pineapple, papaya, and orange upfront. Honey and white bready malt. A piney and orange peel bitterness bites into the finish, balancing out the honey sweetness and leaves a lingering sap on the palate.
Creamy body, well carbonated, smooth but sticky.

A solid IPA....fruity, and a nice balance of NE West Coast characteristics.

A- Can pour into a becher with a thick and creamy white cap peaking at about a half inch high. Good head retention and thick webs of lace instantly with sheets down the glass below that.

S- Citrus hops are the biggest thing here with both the bittersweet and the fruity aspect of oranges and grapefruit. Hints of floral and pine hops as well as a bit of stone fruit. Mango comes to mind. Hints of cracker and bready grains.

T- Hops run the show again with a moderate strength. Oranges, mango, grapefruit and apricot first with floral, pine, herbal and dank hints. The malts bring hints of cereal, bread and cracker with a medium overall sweetness bringing on some of that candied orange feel.

MF- Silky and smooth light-medium body with a high level of carbonation. Creamy softness on the palate. Ends with a zesty citrus oil bitterness lingering on the taste buds.

Kind of down the middle IPA with citrus and hints of floral, pine and stone fruit from the hops with a medium sweetness and some malt influence. Clean and balanced.

Hits the tongue hard. The hoppiness is ok, but that mixes with the pineapple just doesn't mix well. Leaves a bad, back of the throat after taste. It's not terrible, but it isn't pleasant.

this whole voodoo ranger thing is hard to follow, weird branding, the beers keep changing, maybe their new ownership structure will instill some sensible plan for the series, im unsure what to expect there, but this whole group of hoppy beers has never resonated with me personally, regardless of the liquid. this is more modern than others have been, definitely juicy and pineapple and orange forward, a neat mix of hops, some unfamiliar to me, this is the first i have seen incognito being called out, sort of like cryo from what i understand, keeping plant matter out of beer to increase yield and potentially stability over time, but i dont know much about it yet. i think the hop profile is nice, the grain base simple and near dry by the end and big enough to support, and i like how bitter this is, it kind of catches me off guard there on the swallow, a little more pronounced than anticipated, especially for how dry hoppy and fruit forward this smells and starts off tasting. definitely get the fruitiness, pineapple and passion fruit and guava, ripe and natural, a touch green, but good green to me, not sloppy and overdone, just real fresh. nice rushing carbonation too, the feel is nice, especially with the bitterness. i liked this better than i thought i would, kind of a best of both worlds in terms of the hops, and somewhat unique too. almost a fruit added vibe, but overall tasty stuff. a little bigger and more intense than i could drink a bunch of, but it was ahead of my lowly expectations. hopefully a sign of better hoppy beer to come from these guys. its been way too long!

Pours a hazed gold with 2 fingers of cream colored head. Very good lacing & head retention

S: Pine, grassyness, cattyness

T: Follows the nose, dry, a little grapefruit up front. Pretty dry, woody, piney & a little pomelo as this warms. Finishes dry with a little dryness & woody hop

MF: Medium body, firm carbonation, decent balance

Drinks easy enough, not a bad West Coast IPA

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of citrus, grapefruit and toffee. Sweet tropical fruitiness with toasted caramel.

12oz can poured into Duvel tulip. 23 FEB 2020 printed on bottom of can. So this still has 2-3 months of freshness left in it. Got it from a $10 sixer mixer.

Appearance - Opaque orange orange-light brown body with bi 2-finger offwhite head with decent to good retention and fine if somewhat patchy lacing. 4.75

Smell - Dry musty cardboard. Maybe some dry citrus rind. 3.25

Taste - A kick in the mouth. Almost like biting directly into a citrus rind. 4

Mouthfeel - Again, a kick in the mouth. Almost like biting directly into a citrus rind. A little too astringent as a result. 4

Overall - Intense. Lives up to his aggressive name and packaging. Not bad, but too strong for a session. 3.75

Pours a cloudy, hazy deep golden amber color with a 1 ½” tan foam, micro to medium bubbles, solid hold, 2 + minutes, mild tears and spotty lacing. Aromas of tropical fruit, Nugget, Mosaic, Ekuanot, Jester, Chinook, Citra, and Mandarina Bavaria hops. Taste is caramel malts, Munich malts, piney-green hop resin, and citrus pith. Mouthfeel is creamy, medium body, average carbonation, a dry finish with lingering pine and citrus pith. Overall flavor is balanced, juicy, well masked ABV, very flavorful hop bite with a moderate mouth coat of resin, the taste is fresh tropical fruit. This is a very crushable IPA.

12 ounce can into signature globe glass; canned on 9/13/2019, best before 1/19/2020. Pours very hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, green peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, green peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, green peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly crisp/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of alcohol for 7.7%. Overall this is an awesome IPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth, easy, and fairly crisp to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish. Nicely soft and not overly aggressive. Awesome Nugget, Mosaic, Ekuanot, Jester, Chinook, Citra, Mandarina Bavaria profile. Extremely vibrant, dank, earthy, and fairly juicy hop complexity; with a nice clean bready Munich malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example as expected. Another great addition to the series.

Pours a dirty orange with a thick head. Strong smells of orange, pineapple and malt. Taste is pretty strong malts with less citrus than I expected. Feels heavy on the tongue and has a lingering after taste that is not pleasant. Overall this is another wired attempt to create a new flavor forward juiced up IPA. Not a drain pour by all means but this one doesn’t get a second buy from me.

Hop Avenger has a very thick, ivory head, an opaque, marmalade-orange appearance, & quite heavy glass lacing. The aroma is of fruit and pale malt. Taste is similar with strong bitterness. Mouthfeel is somewhat heavy, and Hop Avenger finishes mostly dry.
