One of my favorite hazy IPAs. Cloudy golden amber color poured from a can. Nice and pleasing citrusy smell. Smooth easy taste that begs for another. Nice hoppy notes at the end. Very pleasing.

A good one from Voodoo. A bit of a dank tone - I think that’s the Strata? Coupled with Amarillo hops I enjoyed this IPA as being a touch different without being strange. Nice pour color/haze with a good head and some lace. I think this is an IPA best served with food... something savory or flavorful without a bunch of acid. Not an absolute favorite, but enjoyed having an IPA that uses a different hops mix with subtle changes in flavor.

This VR series is definitely one to enjoy...

Hazy for sure - an appealing bright yellow glow in the haze I really liked, a creamy head, and lacing. The smell is very fruity with hints of peaches and light on grapefruit. The mouthfeel was carbonated considerably to start but tamped down as it warmed and reached an interesting 'is it there at all?' level. The taste was filled with the same fruitiness as its odor - a big plus in my book. Overall, I enjoyed this and use this series as my go-to for bringing beer to visits with friends and at their homes.

Picked up a six pack of this during softball season. A little skeptical of the ipa designation on this one, seems more marketing than informational.

Anyhoo, pours a light amber color w some orange mixed in. 1/3" white head. Far from the haziest beer you'll ever see. The aroma isn't all that hoppy despite Strata and Amarillo being here. More neutral than hoppy. Not pulling any tropical notes out of it.

Light bready quality, mild hops, mild bitterness. Just seems more like a pale ale searching for being 'balanced' more than anything. I thought these were pretty serviceable for softball season. When you pop off about Strata and Amarillo and whatever that experimental hop is, they should have some degree of impact beyond what we have here. There are no off flavors, but it falls short of what it claims to be. I couldn't really discern anything in terms of oats or wheat to make this a hazy, big part of me wonders if they just liked the hazy ipa branding.

Taste is a pretty mild ipa.

12 ounce can into tulip glass; canned on 2/24/2020, best before 7/5/2020. Pours very hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light wood/peppercorn/pine, white bread, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big Very mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light wood/peppercorn/pine, white bread, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, fairly sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5%, with minimal lingering hop burn after the finish. Overall this is an awesome session NEIPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and pretty refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish; great soft feel. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Awesome Strata, Amarillo, HBC 522 hop profile. Extremely juicy/vibrant hops with light dank/earthy notes; with a nice sized oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive spot on style example as expected of the Voodoo Ranger series.

Look: It pours cloudy golden yellow. It has an off white head with very good head retention.

Smell: It has tropical fruit aromas with grass and resinous elements. It has a melon element as well.

Taste: It has a passionfruit flavor with a bit of grainy sweetness. There are some orange and citrus notes.

Feel: It has a medium body with a mostly sweet finish.

Overall, there are some good tropical flavors with a sweet finish.

On tap at Big Al's Meridian, served in a pint glass.

A: Hazy orange with off-white head and lacing.

S: Notes of tropical fruit and stone fruit; soft peach, pineapple, light crackery malt.

T: Follows the nose, definitely 'enough' juicy character for a Pale Ale without being 'bright'.

MF: Light body with soft carbonation.

O: Smooth and easy drinking, just fine for an American Hazy Pale.

This is a light beer, it may masquerade as an Ipa, but I feel the spices and flavors were toned down too much in order to commercialize this product. Voodoo ranger has gone downhill since they lost their independent seal.

This is a really good hazy IPA. Very summer like with melon and passion fruit. Super easy to drink and not a high Ibu. Perfect summer patio beer.
