12oz bottle poured into pint glass.
Bottle dated 10JUL11
A: Pours a perfectly clear golden straw color with a nice 2in. thick tight white cap of foam that lingered nicely.
S: Bright aromas of sweet candied fruits come through like apricot and mango. Pick up some biscuity malt notes and slight yeastiness.
T: Rich with sweet candied apricot, mango and a touch of pine. Considerable peppery hop bite across the palate. The 70IBU's are present and forward in this beer. Maltiness is nice and light but signature New Belgian biscuity flavors present.
M: Overall slightly sweet and nicely bittered. Finishes light and dry.
D: Very nice. A well balanced hop forward brew that finishes nice light, crisp and dry.
A really nice & affordable offering for IPA entusiast's by New Belgian which maintains that Biscuity malt flavor and aroma abundent in their Fat Tire. Not my personal favorite for the style but overall a well crafted brew with nice hoppiness. One of my favorite releases from NB thus far.

12 Oz can poured into glass
Look - somewhat light for an IPA. gold yellow color with a medium foam head and lots of glass lacing
Smell - Some canned pineapple. Grass. Sweet and tropical for the most part.
Taste - Overripe tropical fruits. Sugar cubes. A dank herbal quality. A little alcohol. It's certainly not a run of the mill IPA, it stands out. It has medium body and medium-low carbonation.
Overall, i like this beer quite a bit. It's not too bitter and it has the tropical fruit flavors that i like in IPA. It also has an herb flavor that is almost like oregano, but i think it works well. Grade is a B+

A: Pours a golden orange color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap that leaves good lacing
S: A good mix of citrus, pine, and floral hops along with some caramel and malty undertones
T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the citrus and floral hop notes and then picks up the malt and a light sweetness. Finishes with lingering citrus and floral notes
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A little watery
O: A nicely drinkable IPA that has some good flavors. Nothing special though

From old, undated notes. Poured from the bottle.
Very light orange color.
Very filtered; easy to see through, especially when held to the light.
Frothy head & lacing.
Fruity, hop forward nose.
Slightly thin mouthfeel; very quaffable.
Subtle hop flavor on this guy, slight bite on the back end. Orange citrus is the main flavor. A little watery, truth be told, but this would be an IPA to turn to on a super hot day.
Decent, with a great nose.
