look: 3.75 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 2.75 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 2.25

Appearance - clear golden color, two huge fingers of head. The foam falls back slowly, leaving a cake in the middle and lots of lace rings on the sides.

Aroma - interestingly, on opening I get a fairly intense grapefruit pungency out of the bottle. Upon pouring, however, while that is still there, it is tempered by the biscuity, dare I say Fat Tire-like grain. On setup, I still get a playful jab of floral and citrus from the Cascade, Chinook, and Simcoe. A very well-balanced aroma for an IPA.

Taste - briefly sweet and malty, moving quickly and decidedly bitter. Grapefruit pith and rind, oily. A little less citrusy than I'd hoped for with a little more resin make for an IPA leaning towards the dry bitter side of the flavor profile. A touch medicinal on the swallow, moreso as it dries out the palate into the finish. Leaves a tannin taste behind, like I just ate a spoonful of Spanish peanut skins.

Mouthfeel - decent body, nice and crisp, good smooth feel.

Overall - I liked everything but the flavor, really. Odd how that happens sometimes. One I would tend to avoid as that bitter dryness at the end is a nag.
