It's a sweet, flat, cinnamon bomb that is awful until it's redeeming pepper bite

APPEARANCE: Brown almost ruby or tea like up to the light. Very quickly dissipating head, down to a ring. Nice looking level of carbonation when rocking the glass.
AROMA: Chile peppers right off the bat, caramel, slight chocolate, slight cinnamon.
TASTE: Cinnamon, immediately followed by mild chocolate and caramel. The peppers kick in towards the finish and adds some great flavor.
FEEL: Acidic, medium body, slightly chewy, dry on finish, but a little sticky at the same time.
OVERALL: A little disappointed in the aroma dept, however, the flavor more than makes up for it. I don't get any alcohol in the aroma or taste. The beer has great, but fairly mild building spiciness to it. Cinnamon more so in the taste than aroma. Just a pleasure to drink, will be picking up more.

No date on the bottle, unfortunately. I bought this over a year ago, if I recall correctly, and cellared it well. Served in large, broad wine glass. Very deep, semi-clear ruby or garnet color. Could pass for black when not in direct light. Creamy tan head is fine and frothy. Moderate retention only, though this could result from the liquid's surface area in this specific glass. Strongest aroma is cinnamon, followed by cocoa. Whiff deeper and you will feel the gentle burn of the chiles and a separate, distinct burn from the alcohol, and related sweetness. Cinnamon, sugar, and cocoa powder first to the palate, with chile pepper (could be any type in the middle heat range, really: jalapeño, cayenne, ancho, chipotle, etc.) suggestions, but not really burning until nearly the finish, and certainly the finish itself, and the aftertaste. A backdrop of very tame roastiness to earthiness throughout. Metallic around especially tip of tongue after it has lingered, but this reminds me of Big Red chewing gum, so probably just a cinnamon sensation. Booze sweetness as well, but not too ethanol-like, and not as much warmth as I honestly expected from this ABV, at least not much that can be separated by the senses from the spicy tingling of the peppers. Medium- to full-bodied, creamy and semi-smooth rather than syrupy or sticky as one might reasonably expect. Medium-levels of very fine, sloshy, and spritzy to sudsy carbonation, could be prickly/tingly too, but then maybe that's just the alcohol and spice I'm detecting. A fine treat, but not something I would drink on the regular. At least not without something more substantial to pair it with.
