A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampant's finish is bone-dry.

A tulip-full of Rampant (that sounds odd) at around cellar temperature. Maybe just a little colder.
Avery clean-looking IIPA here. Perfectly crystalline golden-orange in color, with a tight-knit two or three cm crown of snow white froth. Pretty pretty.
Really great aroma. Every glorious coniferous tree smell is represented here, from that fresh, minty pine, to the pungent resin of ground pine needles, to the honey-like sap which oozes down the bark. Also there is grass. And herbs. Basil, perhaps even a little oregano. Fruits include cantaloupe, nectarine, and orange.
All that tree and plant matter in the aroma gets tied together beautifully in the flavor. The pine qualities are extremely strong in this one. Terrific astringency throughout and into the finish, and abundant herbal dankness. At the same time, The unique mix of zesty and sweet fruits (see above) comes in with some honey and runs rampant (hee). A little like orange juice! Many things are going on assertively and yet in harmony.
The feel is pretty nice and full. It could maybe stand to be a little less carbonated, but I don't know... it feels pretty close to spot on.
Fruity, zesty, dank, astringent, sweet, and herbal, this IIPA throws a lot of stuff at the palate, showcasing a highly varied display of all of the style's best traits. And its aroma and flavor have a very unique, distinctive profile owed to a slightly unusual but successful signature fruitiness. Appropriately named.

Somewhat subdued and sweet for a double. Looks great with thick, rocky head. Aroma is apples (?), hops. Taste is hops and apple juice, with short, dry finish. Sharp bitterness remains on the palate. Smooth for a double, but without the kick I was expecting.

From old, undated notes. Poured from the bottle.
Clear yellow/orange color.
Bright white head; spotty lacing.
Light citrus nose with a hint of vinegar.
Thin mouthfeel.
A hint of honey saves the flavor, but this lacks citrus & is overly bitter.
