Style: American Double / Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.50%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampant's finish is bone-dry.

Clear amber color. Quarter inch head at first, slowly disappearing. Musty hop aroma. Initial taste is of deep malt, also fairly musty. Lingering hop bitterness. Tasty. Good imperial, not mind-blowing, but I would definitely buy again. For 5 bucks at Whole Foods for a bomber, it's a steal.

Enjoyed on 12/12/14. Enjoy by date 2/15/15. 8.5.% ABV.

One of my favorite all-time beers. Great combination of flavors. I'm partial to the Belgium ales in general but this is top shelf.

A: very clear, looks decent, small head, looks to be nearly all pale malt, maybe a little crystal

S: sweet, normal IIPA smell, nothing too extravagant but what I would expect from a brewery of mediocrity

T: sweet and malt forward to me, hops not strong with this one, not impressed

M: honestly, I felt like it was somewhat watered down. Not gonna say it was thick, but it wasn't dry. Probably a little higher mash temp than what I like in my own iPad

O: it's a decent beer, but nothing I would seek Out. If you are looking to try a IIPA for a first time, this would be a decent starting point unless you already have a taste for hop forward brews
