Appearance: Pale gold, pours a big head of foam with generous lacing.

Smell: Biscuits and strange fruits.

Taste: Wheat, spice, and strange fruits.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied, crisp, and creamy, it has a nice spicy aftertaste.

The Verdict: Not bad. Billed as an "Ale brewed with soursop and monkfruit," this summer beer has a nice light refreshing feel to it that will go down quite well after a hike or kayaking adventure.

Pours straw yellow with just the smallest bit of white head forming, then nothing. Nice bubble forming in the liquid but not much in the way of lacing.

Fruity, with pale malt and lemon peel, straw and some fleshy fruit, maybe melon and lychee. Gets a bit earthy with the hop profile and some yeasty notes to finish.

Rather clean and unassuming pale malt, tightly integrated and clean with some straw and lemony flavors, notes of coriander, tart fruit and chlorine. Soapy cleansing of the palate, mouthwatering tart flash to finish with some grassy hops.

High carbonation really ramps this up as a summer beer. Light body without any yeast keeps things lively. Low abv. Easy to take down a few.

Serviceable summer ale light airy and tartly refreshing. Odd ingredients really don't improve this beer much though, I'd prefer to see experimentation more in the LoF series rather than a seasonal. I didn't care much for Somesault either but this is easier to take down.

Pours a very light field grain yellow with a finger of white foam.

Lemon zest and cereal grains.

Lemon, citrusy, biscuits.

Light-bodied, high carbonation.

Overall, a crisp and refreshing warm weather beer.

12oz brown bottle with a freshness date.

Great lacing, clear pale golden hue. Earthy nose with suggestions of lemon pith, licorice root, herbal phenols, faint bread crust, and exotic fruit. Mild crispness, lighter bodied, crackers, peppery, slightly bitter, phenolic, mineral, deep herbal tone, dying finish with a long lingering after taste.

Not half bad, a lot going on for a lighter brew and seems to take away from the drinkability a smidgen. Never had a beer with Monk Fruit & Soursop before.

Well, it's April, therefore the summer ales gotta be rollin' out! AMIRIGHT?!?!?!?!

Light gold - pretty much polished brass with a fine target pattern of fine bone white foam. Smells of grain, sweet malt and corn and a hint blueberry at the back end. I like the nose. Flavor is grain, hint of belgian yeast, some clean lychee sweetness on the finish that I keep rolling about my mouth. Thin bodied with moderate sharp carb and a semi dry finish. Tasty beer. I don't really get the whole new belgian pale ale quarterly thing they're trying right now with different esoteric fruits, but I'm happy to give them a go.

pours out a lemony straw colour with an off white head and belgian lace. lemon zest nose on top of a biscuity malt base. grassy, herbal with a tart note. smells inviting. the flavour profile is built upon a sourdough and biscuit malt foundation. yeasty notes throw off some herbalness with tart overtones. citric zestiness provides a slight quenching aspect. there is some peppery spice, too, and maybe a slight alcohol zing. definitley tastes like a NB ale. medium bodied. lighter mouthfeel for ease of drinking. nice drinkability due to the seasonal aspect of it.

overall a pleasant belgian type ale that is appropriate for the warm weather season. glad i got to try it and would probably revisit this again during the summer season.

Pours out to a nice thick white head and moderate lacing. Color is light yellow-gold and very clear. Aroma is spicy hops, fruit and faint grains. Flavor is more in the fruity and spicy hop side with balancing bitterness and a dry finish. Mouthfeel is light and CO2 is very complementary. On the balance this beer has some good things going for it including a good hop character that emphasizes flavor and aroma and not alpha acids. I don't know anything about the soursop or monkfruit, but whatever it is, it did not detract from a very good light ale experience.
