Style: Belgian IPA
Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.20%
Availability: Fall
Notes / Commercial Description:
This winter, IBUs start accumulating like snow in Colorado with our new Accumulation White IPA. Brewing a white IPA was not only a way to salute the white beauty falling from the sky, but a direct revolt to the longstanding tradition of brewing dark beers for winter. At least that’s what our rebellious brewer Grady Hull likes to claim as he shovels in plenty of new hop varietals and a bit of wheat for a smooth mouthfeel. Stack up a few cases of Accumulation White IPA to keep your long nights glowing blizzard white.

Pale golden hued with great clarity. Minimal wisp of head covers half of the top of this beer. I get a bit of floral hop and pale wheat in the nose. The mouth is moderately carbonated. The flavor is pale wheat and I just get bit a light taste of floral hops.

Accumulation - New Belgium Brewing. Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, this brew's head is two fingers thick and pretty light/fluffy, with web-like lacing, and a pale hazy golden body.
I smell a nice amount of citrus and juicier West coast-style of hops.
Tastes like a very well-balanced blend of the notes described above. This is a great example of how White IPA's, when done properly, round the bite off juuust where they ought to. Nothing is undermined or overpowering, just a very enjoyable flavor.
The mouthfeel here is crisp, clean, and quenching.
Overall, I'll give Accumulation - New Belgium Brewing a 4.5. This is one of, if not my current all-time favorite winter seasonal.

L (4.25) – Well, this beer is a white IPA, and it is light in color. Not white, but I can see where that comes from. A nice little amount of very white head on top.
S (4.25) – Smells really good. I definitely get the citrusy smells.
T (4.5) – Tastes just like it smells. Get the nice hop presence up front, and lingers a little on the aftertaste. In a good way!
F (4) – Appropriate carb and mouthfeel for the style. Nothing amazing or irritating either way here.
O (4.25) – I’m not quite sure why I bought this beer, but I was pleasantly surprised. I always like New Belgium beers, and this one was above average for sure. Not very familiar with the white IPA style, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely buy again!

Sweet and piney kind of like Rampant, just not as over powering in either department. Its almost like Rampant Jr. Very delightful for my first winter ale beyond Alaska Brew Co, which is actually brewed with pine needles (very tasty). The smell is very strong and pungent with pine, not so sweet. Really feels like winter on a cold winter day. Very enjoyable. Not an overpowering taste of booze, but just enough to remind you that you're enjoying an adult beverage. Being born in Colorado and living in Alaska, I salute my greeny comrades in their awesome display of evergreen goodness. Prost!

Okay, confession: I was tricked into picking this up past its best-before date. Will re-review once I've had a fresh one to compare.
Appearance is slightly hazy/unfiltered gold, almost lager-like. Meagre head, receding quickly, but much lacing. Smell is Belgian yeast, dough, coriander, citrus, clove, biscuit-y malt, cracker, and a gentle herbal/fruity hop character.
Taste is doughy, biscuity, crackery, with some wheat, spices (coriander, clove, etc.,), and not a huge amount of balancing hop bite. Nevertheless, a bit of herbal/citrus, a touch of resin are here. Light-ish body, fairly aggressive carbonation.
The hops here feel very muted, and I imagine that has to do with it being past the sell-by date. Everything else, though, sure seems to be in order, and it's still a decently drinkable, refreshing beer.

Enjoy by 3/22/15. 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a pale yellow with a slight haze; chunky eggshell white head that sticks around and leaves great lacing and retention. Great looking brew. The aromas have lots of lemon zest. More subtle citrus notes. Some grapefruit. Some malts in the mix. Smells like your typical New Belgium hoppy beer. The Belgian aspects almost seem non-existent, although they're ultimately there. The flavors are bittersweet and refreshing. More citrus notes. More lemon and lime. Hints of wheat. Lots of fresh grass. Hints of caramel. There's a nice little bitterness, but it's far from overwhelming. Finishes pretty clean. Mouthfeel is nice. It's medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and easy drinking. Alcohol goes unnoticed.
This is a fun beer to drink, but isn't overly impressive. Like I said before, it's your typical New Belgium hoppy beer with a subtle kiss of wheat.

Appearance: Cloudy, pale, straw color. Pours a nice 2 finger high head with some moderate lacing.
Smell: Sweet, citrus hop aroma with a malty undertone.
Taste: Smooth pine hops upfront supported by a nice malt base that finishes clean with pine and floral snap. There is also a subtle citrus flavor throughout (lemon and grapefruit). Very well balanced.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, medium body with moderate carbonation.
Overall: New Belgium's Accumulation is an excellent execution of a white IPA. It brings balanced hops, nice mouthfeel, and a wonderful finish. This is by far my favorite winter seasonal.

One of my favorite IPAs. Purchased a six pack of bottles at the store and have twice gone back for more. Very crisp with a light mouthfeel, yet bold in flavor. Brings together a nice balance of bitterness and drinkability. Absolutely loved it.

Bottle dated 06 MAR 16 into pint glass. Pours a cloudy straw color with a fairly thick white head. Initial impression is very well-balanced and restrained. Slight maltiness is up front, but the finish is slightly bitter with a hint of citrus and orange peel. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. This is not an in-your-face IPA; it's much more restrained than most. Nice and refreshing. Mellow. If that's what you're looking for, this is your beer.

This IPA is very very unique. Pours very clear with a nice white head. The taste is super interesting. Not super hoppy but the lack of malts allows you to pick these up. But then there is a nice melon taste that comes into the background. Definitely a unique IPA. Goes well even during these cold winter times.

Presentation: Tulip Glass
Appearance: A light golden color w. a haziness.
Smell: A great floral, hoppy, fruity, citrus, wheaty wonderful aroma.
Taste: It has a powerfully floral taste with a bite of hop. A wheat undertone makes the beer taste more rounded.
One of my favorite beers I wish i could get all year-round. Has a delightfully balanced floral/hop taste that makes for a great "have to try beer".
