Stopped in during GABF 2018 and participated in one of the special semi-private tours they were offering.

As one would expect given our timing the taproom was packed to the gills. Bartenders at the main bar were a bit overwhelmed but a separate bar off to the side was less crowded and seemed to have more unique beers pouring anyways.

Taproom and grounds were nice on their own but the tour really made the trip. Over 2 hours of behind the scenes acccess, one on one face time with brewers/employees and numerous free samples. Even got to pull a bottle fresh of the line toward the end.

Other than Fat Tire back when I first got into craft beer I’ve never been a huge New Belgium fan and wasn’t sure what to expect given the size of the company. Came away impressed though. Big company but felt much smaller and very approachable during our time there.

Large craft breweries don't usually make for the best taproom experiences. I mean, sure, they're still fun, but it's a scrubbed and hurried sort of fun, like an afternoon at an amusement park. While you can't begrudge a brewery's success and expansion, there's nothing wrong with missing the old days, back when a place was new and relatively small and had more an intimate feel. Russian River's beers may be better on the whole than, say, Millstream, but I'd take Millstream's quaint taproom over RR's industrial maze.

New Belgium is a rare exception to this rule, joining the ranks of New Glarus as the most pleasant large-ish craft brewery experience. Both facilites make great use of the surrounding natural beauty; both provide ample, friendly staff; both offer a broad selection of top-tier beers at reasonable prices; and both just exude friendliness. (Also NB pays their staff a living wage, and that is really goddamn important).

All of the annoying design cilches that have befallen most recently opened breweries are absent at New Belgium. They really, genuinely do their own thing, they do it sustainably and responsibly, and if you are in area you absolutely must stop by.

Interior of New Belgium is a little tight and small, especially when considering the weekend crowds. The bar spans the length of the space offering a half dozen to dozen attendants pouring beer, filling growlers, or selling 6 packs from the coolers behind the bar. Staff is all friendly, out going, and helpful. It's a very kind bunch of folks. Beer on tap is all New Belgium's offering their flagships as well as a few Lips of Faith specials and tap-room only beers. The outdoor patio was filled with people on the cloudy, summer day we were there. Yard games were available while a local band played. Seating was offered all around the patio in form of the landscape rocks and tables. A few food trucks were driven in offering on-site food, otherwise there is no food available. Great spot with a fantastic tour. The tour features a sample in every room, even occasionally pouring pre-aged La Folie.

Absolutely gorgeous campus. Lots of space inside and out to enjoy a beverage, throw a frisbee, play some Cornhole, or just relax in the grass. Solid selection of beers on the board featuring their tradition Belgian and famous sour ales to their American style options. Wouldn't mind seeing a little more info on the beers available though. I wish I had more time to explore and hang out here. The tour sounds fantastic which would explain why it books up so quickly.

Try an Odell IPA. Had a Voodoo on tap and couldn't finish it.

My husband and I toured NB Brewery last week. Our tour guide, Jack, was fun and informative. The facilities were beautiful and the beer amazing!

i cant believe i have lived in colorado for so long and been so active in the beer scene here and not yet been up to new belgium for the full experience. my bad for sure, this place is rad! they have a great campus up in fort collins, and its well worth visiting. the taproom is cool, big and busy for sure, but well staffed and they did a good job making it personal and not keeping me ever waiting for a beer. i was a little bummed to not see too many brewery exclusive beers, they hardly had anything that you cant find on any store shelf, i always look forward to one offs at breweries, but they were curiously absent here, which is my only real critique, but they had some lips of faith stuff pouring and all the hoppy beers i had were far better and fresher here than they ever seem to taste out in the world. definitely do the tour when you go, these guys have a beautiful facility, and were one of the first to do wood on this scale here in the states, and their room full of foeders is positively awe inspiring. we forget about this side of new belgium all too often i think, and we really shouldnt. the beers coming out of here have been pioneering, and its amazing to see where its all come from. had a great experience in here, and would highly recommend it to anyone! the visit gave me new respect for them...
