Stopped by here on my way through WI. First impression was "wow, this is a sports bar - a HUGE sports bar." It's really really big and open, not the kind of place I would have expected to find out in the middle of nowhere.

I tried the three Lucette beers on tap - a pale, an IPA, and a stout. They were all pretty unimpressive. If I had to choose one that I disliked least, it would be the pale.

The server knew nothing about beer - I ended up going to the bar to ask them about it, and they didn't even know much about it.

We ordered sweet potato fries, and they were subpar.

If I lived in Menomonie and didn't care about good beer, I would probably come here to watch sporting events or drink during the week. However, I don't live in Menomonie and I like good beer. As such I will likely never visit this place again.

Not worth the stop.

I went here with the lady on a Sunday evening. I asked our waiter which Surly they had on tap. He had no clue what Surly was but he asked the bartender. Fair enough. Bender was on tap so I ordered a 22 oz glass of it. I should have known better and specified a non-frosted glass because, you guessed it, my 22 oz surly came in a frosted glass. Sucky. I let the beer just rest for about 15 minutes until I was able to drink it so what wasn't the best. The atmosphere is decent. It's a big area and the waiters wear sports jereseys. It's not terribly classy but i don't think that's what they're going for. The selection as stated in the other review sucks. This place is a college hangout so the countless crap lagers keep that crowd happy. Foodwise, I ordered up the shrimp with mac n cheese and waffle fries. They were both good but could have been a bit warmer. The lady seemed pretty happy with her ribs and garlic mashed potatoes. She also got a side salad but it was incredibly small. For the price of the food, it could have been better, however. Once I received the bill I saw my large bender was $7.50. Ouch... Given that, I probably won't be back.

The Stout Lager House. I'm sure it's great for the college kids, but it's not worthy of BeerFly. It was just your run of the mill sports bar with a sub par menu, beer selection, and service. Our server seemed more interested in hanging out with her drunk friends than providing a quality experience. And here is the most humorous part of the beer menu:
Craft Bottles
-Bud Light Lime
-Blue Moon
-Killians Red
-Michelob Amber Bock
-Michelob Ultra
-New Glarus Fat Squirrel (1 of the 2 ales on the menu)
-Leinies Honey Weiss
-Leinies Sunset Wheat
-Miller Chill
-Rolling Rock
-Sam Adams
and last but not least Woodchuck Cider

dont go unless it's your birthday then they will give you all the bud light you want. Woohoo
