I've had pints all over town, but Bridgetown is the place I return to most often. Bridgetown has a cozy "cave-like" atmosphere. It's located in an old bank building and the walk-in is housed in the old concrete bank vault. They have 8 well curated taps usually featuring a lager, a sour, a stout and several hoppy brews. They have a knowledgeable friendly staff. They don't serve food but the neighborhood has plenty of great places to choose from and you can bring food in with you. They do have a TV, but it's not a sports bar per se. They show all Blazers games and whatever else is interesting, but it usually doesn't dominate the atmosphere or conversation. It's a fun place to hang out to drink and talk about beer.

For a dollar corking fee, you can drink the beers you just bought in-store. I miss going to this hidden place off the hustle and bustle of what is Mississippi Avenue. Great selection of NW sours.

Love this place!!! Mike (the owner) is awesome and super friendly. Laid-back atmosphere, non-pretentious, and always some new fun brews to try on tap and to-go. There is tons of good eateries in the neighborhood and you can bring food from them into Bridgetown Beerhouse and munch down while drinking great beer. Definitely worth a visit!

This is a great bottle shop down the street from my place. They have a pretty solid selection for the number of coolers they have, and also have 4 or 5 rotating beers on tap. Its a great place to sit down, hang out and enjoy a great beer. The owners Mike and Mike are both nice guys and really knowledgeable. From time to time, they will have different breweries come in and do special events or tastings which is always fun. Although they do not have food on site, you can bring food from the food carts down the street in with you and eat it there.

Nice joint. I first went in because they had some specialty bottles that others didn't have, and some dude even drove them back himself from Bend, OR.

The help was very friendly, and they knew what they were selling.

Somewhat of a small selection compared to some others, but they seemed to carry just the right stuff. I bought a lot in there when I went in. I live in Vancouver, WA so I don't see myself going in too often... but I will go on occasion.

Prices were great and competitive. Good spot since there are not too many bottle shops in that area and I see that area changing into a more craft friendly part of town. Otherwise, I am sure it still has room to catch on more there.

This is a real testament to great customer service. Bridgetown is on a side street just off Mississippi, and is a great little bottle shop. The people running and staffing it really know their beer and although they have a smaller set of coolers than some other places in town, the quality in there is fabulous. On top of that, I came in asking for a special release that was being delivered that day, although a bit later. The guy there was so bad ass that he took down my number and texted me when it came in, and saved one for me. That is going the extra mile. Very awesome place.

I ventured to Portland to meet up with an old friend from college, drink some great beer and hopefully trade for a few gems not available eastward. After breakfast at Gravy one morning, I happened to notice one of my beer trading partners walking by - he tells me that he has a little beer shop around the corner, and that I should visit after breakfast.

Several pounds of sausage gravy later, I wandered over to Bridgetown Beer and was immediately saddened to learn that I should've spent the money I spent at Belmont Station at this little gem of a shop. Thorough attention to local brews, including some rare HOTD gems that I greedily snatched up. Solid imports from obscure Belgian breweries, some of which don't even make it to the shelves back East.

My beery friend was behind the counter when I arrived, and happily pointed my friends and I in the direction of some more noteworthy local stuff, including a recommendation (hopworks Urban Brewery) that ended up being totally worthwhile. I like my beer guys BAers - means they're doing their homework and that they care. Yes, it matters. Now, if I only lived there!

Check this place out on my way to Belmont Station to see what it was all about. They do have a large selection of beers but most of the beer here is stuff you can get at Fred Meyers Hawthorne.

Got a great location and lots of room, just needs a few tweaks to the coolers and beer selection and they could have a bottle shop in comparable to By the Bottle in Vancouver.

Owner is very knowlegable, and is willing to order you anything he can get.

Worth the drive to see what he has and only 3 block to Amnesia if you can't find something to take home!

***note: this review was from when I was a patron; I later bought into the shop and am now a co-owner***

Just opened shop but am impressed with his offerings.

Well over 300 bottles, and almost all beers are in coolers. He also has a large cellar for storing stock in the back. Lots of room for expanding and big dreams from the owner.

Reminds me a lot of By the Bottle in Vancouver.

Mike is a nice guy, willing to do custom ordering, and has big dreams for the place.

Right at suggested retailed price or a little lower.

Looks like there is a lot of room for expanding.

close to amnesia, 5th quadrant, widmer, and saraveza.

Very happy with this bottle shop, and Sareveza opening up as well.

Great Additions to the neighborhood.

Thankful that I only live a block away but also terrified of how much money I'll end up spending there.

damn cellar-holicism
