On draft at Churchkey in D.C. Beer is copper. Tons of head here, tight white bubbles form a really nice head, but low carbonation, lots of lacing as the head falls away. Beer is clear, a really attractive alt.
Smell is really quite malty and nothing else is really happening here, moving on.
The beer is a little sour, a light burnt flavor is there too, beer is blunt. Fast ending. There is a lot of back palate nuance but it disappears so quickly when the beer is gone there isn't time to decide what it is. By the time I think I'm figuring it out, the beer is gone. Some subtle esters and fruit flavors.
Beer is medium bodied, I don't know why I was expecting a thinner beer but I know when I'm wrong, the mouthfeel was good and the drinkability is high. I would recommend this beer to other beeradvocates.

330 ml longneck swingtop bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Brown colour, large off-white head. Aroma of malts, earth, blackcurrants, dark bread, herbs and spices. The flavour has the same elements, some caramel too, but is not too sweet. Decent bitterness. Overall an excellent beer.

330 ml flip top bottle, poured into a tulip pint glass. Pours a chestnut brown with a moderate head. Some lacing. Aroma and flavor feature caramel and biscuity malt, Nutella undertones, and floral hops with a hint of spice. Complex and delicious. No sourness, thank goodness. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with just the right amount of carbonation. I could drink this every day and not get tired of it. Wow.

Had on tap at Bavarian Lodge in Lisle, IL. Pours a hazelnut color with a decent, Guinness-like head that dissipates quickly. The smell is somewhat insubstantial; as others mention, there's a light sourness: just the first curveball from what looks like a standard brown ale or dunkel. The taste is . . . .where is the roasted malts? The look of this thing says roasted malts. Imagine getting an orange-juice hued beer and instead of tasting NEIPA it's an ESB. It's delicious, slightly jarring. Very light mouthfeel, no alcohol burn. Bright, hoppy (not dank or resinous). Will definitely have again since it's such a rarity to get this on tap in the US. However, there are so many beers on tap at the Lodge I want to try. . .

From the interesting flip top 330 ml bottle, it pours a clear dark caramel color with a nice light tan head that slowly reduces. Scent is light, bready caramel malts and some spicy hops. Taste follows nose, with a very slight sour note coming through.

First of this style. Not sure what to think of it. Dark caramel color with rather light body. It's a bit on the malty side but there is bitterness too. Felt odd at first but it's getting better after each sip. It's like there is a lot going on and simple at same time. There is ba feel at the end I'm not sure what it is, or if i like it, a bit confusing. Rating this just ok for now, my palate not used to this one.
Edit: There is some sourness as well, maybe that is what throwing me off?

#1825 - Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Deep chestnut brown, filtered, pours clear with a 3mm pale tan head.
S- Mild... I also thought I got a lightly apple-sour note but only on one sniff.
T- Oh yes indeed, it is moderately sour. It does that thing where it feels like it's pruning your palate/gums beneath and beside your tongue. Within that there is something of an apple-sour aspect. I also get some malts though minor (IMHO) when compared to the deep chestnut colour which to me usually says 'deep roasty trad malts here'...
F- Bright and somewhat dry. CO2 in the mouth is present but understated. FWIW there is no real sense of ABV% here.
O- Handed a glass of this and I'd think it might be Abbot Reserve Ale (a higher-ABV% quality trad English Ale) or similar but it's entirely different. It's brighter, hoppier, less malty, less rich, and almost has a hint of sour-apple going on. Interesting to try but hoppier/dryer than I aim for; might appeal more to fans of properly hoppy trad-IPA.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the lables to see what I missed! --> Contains three kinds of malts, 6.0%
330ml bottle BB: Apr-2022, Lot: L09121. £3 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

L: Pours an amber brown with good clarity. A gentle pour yields three fingers of khaki head with good retention leaving a nice webbed lacing on the glass.
S: Bready malt, toasted malt, grassy notes, honey, and dark fruit.
T: Toasted malt, notes of grass, earthy noble hop spice, a touch of honeyed bread crust, dark fruits, and a tea-like herbality that lends a light bitterness on the back end and finish.
F: Medium body with medium-low carbonation. The mouthfeel is smooth and silky with a nice dryness on the finish.
O: This one is great with a nice balance of malts and hops. Recommended.
